2026 TWILIGHT REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
Bullants welcomes all players, umpires and managers (female and male) to join our club for the 2026 twilight netball competition. The club is based at the South Canberra Netball Association (SCNA) courts in Deakin, ACT. All games are at the SCNA courts.
*Youth Presentation Night | Arrival and Parking Signing In: Please remember to bring your ID, you will be signed in under Bullants for this event. Parking: Once you have been signed in to the venue, individual parking will be validated on the way out.
Skills Development Program: South Canberra Netball Association are offering a 3 week program aimed at players (female and male) looking to extend their netball skills. It will particularly cater for players who are interested in playing or are already playing in the Junior Representative teams. Players will need to be proficient in the basic skills of netball.
This program aims to improve the speed, fitness and agility of all participants and to extend specific netball skills.

A message from the president | Final Round for 2026
We can’t wait to enjoy the last round for 2026 tomorrow. We’ve been so fortunate each week to support 32 teams and over 300 players take the court supported by our wonderful coaches and umpiring community. We couldn’t do it without you!
It’s honestly a privilege to see so many players/coaches/umpires enjoying the game we all love. We have 13 teams guaranteed to make finals and a couple of teams playing big matches tomorrow to make it through. For others, tomorrow represents a wonderful last time to hit the courts this winter season and enjoy their team mates.
A final message, we have seen an unfortunate rise in negative behaviour across the SCNA community in recent weeks. There will be no tolerance for poor sportsmanship towards umpires, other players, and coaches. We ask for your support to ensure this is a positive and respectful environment for everyone

•Weekday Training: For players and families that train at the courts during the week, the childcare centre carpark cannot be used before 6:30 PM, Monday–Friday. The centre pays for those parking spots, so they must remain vacant for clients of the centre as they pick up their children in the afternoon/evening.

As we head into the next stretch of the season, we have a few vital updates to share. Please find below some club reminders and very important messages from the South Canberra Netball Association (SCNA) that everyone needs to review and follow.

Important reminders from the South Canberra Netball Association (SCNA) that everyone needs to review and follow.
Photography SCNA is bound by the policies of Netball ACT and Netball Australia, including their position statement on taking images of children. At SCNA this is applied by a requirement that:
No images of children are shared on social media etc without the express permission of the child’s parent/guardian;
No photographs/video is taken, even for private use, without the permission of the parent/guardian of other children who may appear in the images. The minimum requirement is that you advise an adult from the opposing team of your intention to take photographs/video, including about how the images will be used, and obtain their agreement to this. If the opposing team does not give explicit agreement, you cannot take photographs/video during that game, regardless of how you intend to use the images.
Animals No animals can be inside the fence at any time (on Saturdays or other days when training is taking place) or closely adjacent to the grass courts when games are being played. This is an ACT Government requirement as part of our lease. The only animals that are exempted are service animals, which should be clearly marked as such.

Court Set Up & Pack Up: Moving netball poles, putting bins out, and setting up grass courts. *Please note: this requires some heavy lifting, and volunteers must be over 12.
Court Check-In: Checking in with the SCNA office for rostered duties.
Canteen Duty: Serving snacks, hot food, and drinks in the SCNA canteen.
BBQ Duty: Cooking & Serving hot food at the SCNA outdoor BBQ.

Boys in Netball Workshop
We are thrilled to share an incredible new initiative hitting the courts next year. In 2027, the South Canberra Netball Association (SCNA)—in collaboration with southside associations Arawang Netball Association (ANA) and Tuggeranong Netball Association (TNA), and with the vital support of the ACT Men’s and Mixed Netball Association and Netball ACT—is officially launching the Southside Boys in Netball initiative!
This fantastic program is aiming to deliver:
• U15 Southside Boys Juniors Representative Team • Southside Boys (Years 7–10) Weekly Winter Competition

💚 THE GREEN BAND INITIATIVE
Here at Bullants Netball Club, we pride ourselves on being a supportive community where everyone can learn and grow—and that includes our umpires!
The Green Band initiative is designed to identify and protect umpires under the age of 18 officiating netball. “If they wear green, they’re under 18” is the core message of the Green Band Initiative backed by Netball Australia, this policy has been rolled out nationwide across member organisations to safeguard minors. It aims to address poor sideline behaviour and ensure that any complaints or issues are managed according to the Netball Australia Safeguarding Children & Young People Policy (effective 1 February 2025).
We have both emerging umpires and umpires from the junior umpire program on our games in Juniors and GO. They are learning! Please support them and all officials.

Please do NOT stand on the players bench side of the court. The benches are for our players, coaches and scorers only. All spectators are welcome to stand on the opposite side of the court (no benches side)
Scorers
The team scorer should stand with the other teams scorer on the players bench side of the court, this should just be one person per team, not a group. The scorers stand apart from the benches.
Injuries
A reminder to log any injuries with the SCNA office so the injured player can access any insurance claims. (player / family can log injury)

Best and Fairest Awards 🐜🏅
SCNA is implementing a change to the best and fairest awards. Rather than 3-2-1 points allocation system, our Coaches will nominate a single point for the best/fairest player in specific areas of the court ie. defence/mid-court/shooting. Voting slips will be on scoreboards.

• Nails Clipped • Hair tied back • No jewellery • Drink Bottles • Players to be in Bullants Uniform
If you are unable to make it to your game please let your team Manager know via your teams WhatsApp chat.
Court Etiquette
• Photos of minors are only with permission • Stand on opposite side of court to coach • No dogs • Cheer for all! • Support umpires and all officials. Youth umpires will have green wrist bands
Spectators
Please do NOT stand on the players bench side of the court. The benches are for our players, coaches and scorers only. All spectators are welcome to stand on the opposite side of the court (no benches side)
Scorers
The team scorer should stand with the other teams scorer on the players bench side of the court, this should just be one person per team, not a group. The scorers stand apart from the benches.
Injuries
A reminder to log any injuries with the SCNA office so the injured player can access any insurance claims. (player / family can log injury)
Respect the Umpires
A new cohort of umpires will be starting on Go and Juniors games (including many from Bullants) – and to support their development we ask adults to NOT approach those new umpires and instead rely on the umpire mentors.
Grass Courts: On the grass courts, please ensure there is room for the umpire to move without tripping over people or drink bottles.

The purpose of grading is to make sure everyone is in the best team for an enjoyable and successful season! If your player, or you are worried, please reach out.
• Please arrive 10 mins early for numbering so we can start on time. • Parents – we’d ask you to head off once your player is registered please. • Please arrive ready to play with ear rings out, hair tied back and nails clipped. • If you are unable to attend, please let us know.

Team Announcements and Training
Teams will be announced by 9th March, ready for team training to start 11th March at our usual times.
• Juniors and NSG: 5:30-6:30pm • Inters and Cadets : 6:30-7:30pm • Seniors: 7:30 – 8:30pm
Uniforms
Our uniform shop will be Open from 6-8pm on each night of grading (18 Feb, 25 Feb & 4 Mar) for new and second hand sales.
If you have a playing dress or singlet you have grown out of, please bring it along and we’ll buy it back from you.
