Round 5 – 18 May

Four Bullants teams have byes in round 5.
NSG 2 – Shinook
Inters Div 1 – Dakota
Inters Div 2 – Comanche
Seniors Div 2 – Chiefs

Please note that The Inters Divisions 1 & 2 have now been split. The draw will be up on the online portal very soon. There are currently a few technical problems with the online portal (as is not unusual with a development system). Hopefully things will be fully functional in the next few days.

Just a reminder that the competitions and ladders can be viewed at the Netball Australia Public Portal.

Round 4 – Saturday 11 May

Canteen
The following teams have Canteen duty this weekend:
Inters – Comanche and Kiowa
Seniors -Mohicans

Hoodies
Hoodies can still be purchased at $ 50 each.  They will be available for purchase on Saturday.

Brr…feel the chill

Uniform
Well it was definitely chilly on Wednesday night…we still have some hoodies left if you need one.  Maree will be setting up shop near the coffee van on Saturday morning if anyone needs to pick up their uniform orders or purchase a hoodie.  Any outstanding payments will need to be made before pick-up.

Junior Umpire Scheme
A reminder to those inters players who would like to participate in this program to be at the pavilion by 9:20am tomorrow (Saturday 4 May).

The weather
Sadly it is only going to get colder from here on in.  On training nights it would be best if the players are well covered as there tends to be a bit of time standing around when they are learning new drills.  The secret is to wear layers…and I am quite happy for one of those layers to be a beanie, especially on windy nights.  Please ensure all players have a set of warm clothes (jumper and track pants) to pop into while they are off the court on a Saturday.  It would also be great if the clothing can be labeled, that way if it is left behind it can be re-united with its owner.

See you at the courts

We’re back

Training
Training resumes on Wednesday afternoon (1 May). Uniforms will be also available for pickup from 5:30pm.

Canteen duty
Round 3 sees Shinook, Arapaho and Cree on canteen duty this weekend. Please step up and volunteer for a shift…the more volunteers the shorter the shift.

See you at the courts

Bullants coaches work hard during the break

Five Bullants coaches spent the day at Netball ACT today undertaking the practical portion of their Netball Australia/Australian Sport Commission Foundation Coaching Certification. It is great to have such committed volunteers in our club. Well done Heather, Brittany, Bec, Edwina and Emma.

Training on Wednesday 10 April

There are a large number of our players and coaches on school based activities this week and so formal training has been cancelled.  Shawnee will train as usual and I will run a fitness/skills session for anyone who would like to come down to the courts between 5:30 -6:30pm.

Training resumes on Wednesday 1 May and uniforms will be given out then.  During the holidays make sure you continue to build your fitness by going for walks, runs or creating your own fitness session.

Cheers
Ruth

Canteen Duty this weekend – Dakota and Mohawk & Uniforms

Just a reminder Dakota and Mohawk are on canteen duty between 11:50am and 1:10 pm. tomorrow 6 April.   The roster for canteen duty can be found here.

Sorry for the delay with getting uniforms out, however the delay is with our t-shirt supplier.  All uniforms will be distributed on Wednesday 1 May (first training back after the holidays).

SCNA AGM – Wednesday 3 April

Just a reminder that everyone is invited to the SCNA AGM on Wednesday evening at 7:30pm.  If you wish to nominate for a position on the Executive you will find a nomination form in the SCNA AGM Agenda 2013-14

Round one round-up

Well round one is done and dusted and we had a real mixed bag of results; wins, loses, near misses and draws. Every team put in a fantastic effort…well done.  Sometimes it takes a few rounds to sort out whether teams are in the correct divisions as often we don’t know the caliber of the opposition teams when we submit the nominations.  Rest assured the SCNA Division chairs want an even competition as much as the teams do, so while some changes may need to be made it wont happen until round 4 or 5.

MANAGERS:  Each team needs a manager.  It is a simple task of coordinating; making sure a parent is available to score each week and organising a roster when your team is on canteen duty.  Please consider volunteering for this role and let me know by emailing bullantsnetball@gmail.com

TRAINING:  While there is no netball next weekend because of the Easter break, there WILL be training this Wednesday as usual.

SCNA Calendars:  The 2013 SCNA calendar is available here.  The Winter canteen roster is available here.

Cheers
Ruth Mahon (Bullants President)

2013 Competition draws and results

Netball Australia is in the process of upgrading the SCNA database and  websites.  At the moment the new database is not talking to the old website so for all game draws and results, please visit the Netball Australia Public Portal.  When the new website is live, the draws and results will also appear on the home page.  We will let you know when that occurs.

Please note:

Juniors:
We were short on numbers for Division 1 and 2, so have combined the two divisions for the season. This was to create more competition for the teams, so they weren’t playing the same teams week in, week out. Division 1 and 2 will then be split for finals:  ladder position 1-4 playing in Division 1 finals and ladder positions 5-8 playing in Division 2 finals.

Intermediates:
Division 1 and 2 have been combined for the first 4 rounds, and the draw will be done manually on a weekly basis. (This draw will not be displayed online)
The intermediate chair will then asses the division after round 4 to determine if it will stay a 10 team combined division or be split into 2 divisions (we are hoping to get the draws online after round 4).
