SCNA Summer Competition

Information and forms for the 2014 SCNA Summer Competition are now available on the COMPETITIONS page so get a team together and join in the social summer season.  Registrations are open NOW and close on MONDAY 29 September.
Parents need to be aware that the summer season only operates with the input of parents to coordinate and manage the team courtside.  Bullants Club will provide a team kit and have a representative onsite each week to help teams however each team needs a parent champion.  The BBQ will be operating each night so dinner is covered!

Got a question?  Read the Summer comp page and if you still need clarification email us at bullantsnetball@gmail.com

Feeling proud

All ten Bullants teams that played today have advanced either straight to the grand finals or to the next round preliminary finals. Awesome effort girls.

Semi finals Saturday 6 September

Good luck to the 10 Bullants teams in the semis this weekend.
Scorers MUST stand with the opposition scorer through the whole game…our thanks to those that take on this important role.

Just a reminder to parents and players that at this point in the season coaches may make the decision to play certain combinations of players that work best for the team. All players are asked to respect the coaching decisions; they are made for the advancement of the team not an individual player.

Canteen Roster – Semi Finals.
Teams are asked to provide a parent volunteer to help out in the canteen for the following short shifts:
10:45 – 11:15 am: Bullants Sioux
12:45 – 13:15 pm: Bullants Kiowa
13:45 – 14:15 pm: Bullants Cree

Cree and chiefs need to have a team photo before the game so please don’t be late.

See you at the courts

Take a bow Bullants

Yesterday was a great day for Bullants Netball Club. Our volunteers were award winners in three out of the four SCNA Volunteer of the Year categories. Well done to Zoe, Emma, Brittany, Heather and Gavan and thank you for your service to both the club and district this year.

Bullants will have great representation in the finals series as 10 Teams advance to the semi final round next weekend. The draw for the games is posted on the SCNA website. Good luck to all involved. Training will be as usual on Wednesday for these teams.

Thanks to Shawnee and Mohawk who played their last game yesterday. We hope you had a fantastic season.

SCNA will hold its final council meeting this Wednesday. If anyone has anything they wish to address with council please let me know. We will be reviewing the 2014 season. We need a volunteer to attend the meeting on Bullants behalf, 8 pm Wednesday 3 Sept. If you can help out please email me bullansnetball@gmail.com

Other news
Details of the Summer competitions registration will be released next week. I haven’t had any volunteers to coordinate summer comp so I am asking parents to work together and step up and put together a team rather than just registering their child as as individual. This will mean having a conversation with other players and their families to see who wants to play. Forms will be available on the website by the end of next week.

End of season party – I hope you all received an email regarding the end of season party on Wednesday 24 Sept. If you didn’t receive an email (I did have a few bounces) or still need to RSVP, send me an email at bullantsnetball@gmail.com and I will send you all the details.

See you at the courts

Skills clinic – if you signed up for the SCNA skills clinic, it has now been cancelled following two postponements due to the weather. You can get a refund from the office on Saturday.

BBQ – we haven’t had a very good response to our call for volunteers to work the BBQ next weekend. We have no one in the set up or 9:30 time slot and only a few in each of the other times. Thank you to the families who have already stepped up but we need some more. Sign up here BBQ sign up

End of season party – don’t forget to put Wednesday 24 September on your calendar. Bring the family, share a sausage and some cake and celebrate the success of the season.

What’s on? Lead up to the end of the season

The regular season gets a bit disjointed here as we stop for Junior Rep Championships. So here is a summary to make sure everyone is one the same page.

Training – Training will continue even though there are no games. It is important to maintain the momentum as we lead up to finals. Make sure your child is in layers (a beanie is good too) as it is cold at the courts.

Sat 9 August – No Netball at SCNA. Junior Rep U13-U15 Championships at Lyneham. Good Luck to our girls playing, I am sure they would love your support if you can spend some time to visit the Lyneham Netball Centre.

Saturday 16 August – No Netball at SCNA for all divisions EXCEPT Inters Div 1/2 who will make up their games that were washed out in June. Games start at 11am so please be at the courts by 10:30 am at the latest. I would also like to take Comanche and Arapaho team photos at this time.

Junior Rep U11-U12 Championships at Lyneham. Good luck to the Bullants girls playing and feel free to pop over and cheer for them.

Saturday 23 August – All games resume. Team photos for all teams yet to have them. Please be at the courts 35 minutes before the start of your game. I will take photos in the carpark at the back of the pavilion.

Inters Div 1/2 will be playing 2 games over 2 time slots (12 pm and 1pm).

Saturday – 30 August – Last round of the season proper

Bullants will be running the BBQ at SCNA on Saturday 30 August. Gavan Cattanach has volunteered to coordinate the day but he needs helpers. Thank you to those regulars who have already signed on to help, we value your commitment to the club. You too can help out by filling out the FORM

Presentations for NSG, Junior umpires and SCNA volunteers of the year.

After 30 August, training will continue only for those teams in the finals rounds. Finals begin on Saturday 6 September.

Wednesday 24 September – BULLANTS FAMILY PARTY

Mark it in your diaries, more details coming soon!

At the conclusion of the party we will hold our Annual General Meeting. Bullants needs volunteers to continue to be able to provide netball at the club level. At the AGM all positions are declared vacant so here is your chance to jump on in. Several committee members are stepping down after many years of service and their roles need to be filled. At a minimum the club is legally required to have the roles of President, Treasurer and Secretary filled. Feel free to email us for more details.

BBQ at SCNA
