Inters 2pm cancelled, uniforms are still open

Unfortunately it is still raining, so we will have to cancel Inters at 2pm.

Uniforms are still open if you need to come and try/order.

1pm Juniors cancelled today

Unfortunately the courts are too wet and it’s still sprinkling so we will not be able to get on court at 1pm.

Uniform try ons/orders continuing so if you haven’t got your uniform sorted, head on down to Arawang courts.

Uniforms still going ahead 12-1pm, but NetSetGo games cancelled

We know how excited our NetSetGo players are to finally be on court, but unfortunately the weather is not on our side to play safely today. We will still go ahead with uniforms 12-1pm, so please head down to Arawang courts and try on and order your Bullants uniform. The uniforms have a lengthy lead time so we need to get orders in to our supplier this week if you want a dress by week one of games.

We will monitor the weather and provide updates for other ages as today progresses. We are trying our best to get regular training for everyone, but without our home courts it is a challenge!

Training this Saturday and welcome NetSetGo!

Training: We will train again this Saturday the 28th of March at Arawang Netball Courts in Stirling. This will include our recent time slots, netsetgo at 12pm, juniors at 1pm, inters at 2pm, cadets at 3pm and seniors at 4pm. We’re anticipating a return to our traditional Wednesday night training at SCNA from the following week, though this is all dependent on the courts being finished in time. Please make sure you arrive early with no jewellery or nails, long hair tied back, and plenty of sunscreen!

NetSetGo: We are so excited to get started this weekend!!! We’ll be starting from 12pm on Saturday!

Teams: We are still finalising our team lists, which for some teams will mean their first training together this weekend, but for most will mean our final week of grading. Please come ready to show us what you’ve got!

Uniforms: For all of our NetSetGoers, as well as anyone else who has not yet purchased a uniform, please make sure you do so on Saturday the 28th of March. Uniform orders have been placed with our supplier already, so this is our last chance to get those orders in. If you have a second-hand dress you would like to sell, please bring it along with you on Saturday and speak to our lovely uniform team who can take it off your hands.

Volunteers: We’re eager to recruit some more keen volunteers. We’re particularly looking for coaches for our older teams, as well as umpires and managers, but any form of help you can offer would be appreciated! If you can help us out, please email bullantsnetball@gmail.com. Remember that Bullants is a volunteer-run organisation, and we cannot survive without your support!

No netball this weekend

Thanks for all your patience in getting through grading! We’re working away behind the scenes getting our teams put together, and we’re excited to share these with you shortly.

With the hot weather, plus a number of our players, coaches and umpires heading away for a rep carnival this weekend, we’ve decided to take this week off from training.

We’re hoping for some good news shortly about the availability of our courts, and we will be in touch very soon to let you know about training arrangements, prior to the season starting.

For those of you heading to Shoalhaven this weekend, good luck!!! For everyone else, enjoy your weekend!

Grading continues tomorrow!

Tomorrow marks our (hopefully final) week of grading. We’re expecting another hot day, so please come prepared with hats, sunscreen and plenty of water. We will also be prepared with plenty of things to keep us cool and some shade.

For our NetSetGo players, we’re just as excited as you are to get started! We’ll let you know soon, but we anticipate this will be in the next few weeks!

For everyone else, we will see you all tomorrow!

Registrations open Netball 2025!

We’re super excited to welcome you all back to netball for 2025!

Registrations are now open! Click here to be taken to the page to register.

Importantly though, there are a few differences to our preseason this year, that we want to walk you through.

Courts: As you’re likely aware, our court surfaces are in the process of being upgraded. This project is taking longer than anticipated and we are not expecting the courts to be available to us until just before the season commences. As a result, we have had to carefully consider our grading and training processes. This leads us to point two…

Grading: Grading will be held on a Saturday afternoon at the Arawang Netball Association courts (Stirling) from Saturday 22nd February. Watch this space for confirmation of times for each age group (Juniors through to Seniors). With half the courts in Canberra being renovated currently, there is a huge demand for court time, so we’ve chosen the option that will hopefully minimise the interruption to everyone’s schedules.

We will proceed with three weeks of grading:

·       Saturday, 22 February

·       Saturday, 1 March

·       Saturday 15 March

We will share a survey in the coming weeks with those registered to ensure we can capture when players can/can’t attend.

Training: It is likely that training will also take place on a Saturday afternoon at the Arawang courts from Saturday 22 March (once grading is completed), but we will confirm this in the weeks ahead. For our NetSetGo teams (Years 2-4) who aren’t graded, training will likely begin on 22 March.

Please note, as soon as we have our new courts back, we will swing back to training on Wednesday nights at SCNA!

Fees: Our fees are made up of four components – Netball Australia, Netball ACT fees, SCNA fees, and Bullants fees. The Bullants component covers elements such as umpires, playing equipment, coaching gifts and club events. For the last couple of years, Bullants has been able to absorb some of the increase in Netball ACT/SCNA fees due to a healthy bank balance. However, this year, with Netball ACT increasing its fees and us reaching a point where further cost absorption is not viable, we do need to increase our fees to maintain our sustainability. This will see fees rise by up to $30 for the season. Please note that PlayHQ also charges a system fee of roughly $5 on top of the fees noted in the table below.

We know this may be difficult for some in our community. PlayHQ has a payment plan system, which may help to spread the cost for families. Or, we also encourage you to email us at bullantsnetball@gmail.com before registering if you have any concerns/questions.

Fees20242025
NSG – Set (Year 2&3)$200$230
NSG – Go (Year 4)$220$250
Juniors (Years 5&6)$270$285
Inters (Years 7&8)$275$305
Cadets (Years 9&10)$275$305
Seniors (under 18s)$295$310
Seniors (18+)$305$320

Uniforms: Please hang tight on uniforms for now, we will let you know when we’re able to take orders, but this will likely be at grading/training so that you have the opportunity to try on your new pieces!

Fitness: In 2024, we ran a trial specialised fitness and conditioning program for our inters/ cadets/ seniors players to boost our conditioning and create opportunities to get to know players across the club. The program was very successful – we had great numbers involved and received positive feedback.

As a result, we’re looking at ways we can roll out the program in a sustainable way. To inform our thinking, we’d welcome the views of our inters/cadets/seniors players – please fill in the following survey.
