We are so excited to be able to start Bullants netball for 2023.  Registrations are now open – go to the registration page. 

This Wednesday, 22 February, there will be a uniform buying and information night at the SCNA courts (6-7pm). 

DATES FOR THE SEASON 

Training (including grading to be placed in teams) will start for juniors, intermediates, cadets and seniors on Wednesday 1 March. 

Net Set players will start training on 15 March.   

SCNA grading, to put teams in the right competition grade, will start on Saturday 29 April, after the school holidays, and run for three weeks, with competition points starting from 20 May. 

REGISTRATION 

Registrations are open now and will close 27 February for players year 5 and above – so don’t delay. 

For Net Set players in year 2, 3 and 4 registrations will close on 15 March. 

Please note this year there is a new category – CADETS.  This is a competition for year 9 and year 10 players.  Intermediates will be focused on year 7 and year 8 players.  Year 11 and year 12 players participate as part of the Seniors competition.   

Please complete all registrations by this time so we can form teams.  A few things to note for registrations: 

• DO NOT USE THE REGISTER AGAIN BUTTON after completing the registration form. If you do that you are likely to register in the wrong competition. Return to the Bullants website and select the correct link for registration for any second and subsequent players. 
• If you are unsure about using the system, we will have people to assist you at our info/uniform night on 22 February. It is better to ask the questions first and get the registration correct as Bullants does not have the ability to manually change registrations once they are complete. 
• We have added a few questions during the registration process to help us place players in the most appropriate teams including preferred playing positions.  If there are friends that players want to play with please email Bullants to let us know These preferences will be taken into account but cannot be guaranteed.   

TRAINING TIMES 

Training starts Wednesday 1: 

5.30-6.30pm – Juniors (Net Set players from 15 March) 

6.30-7.30pm – Intermediates and Cadets (so year10s please come at this time slot!) 

7.30-8.30pm – Seniors  

Training is compulsory, if you can’t attend please let us know.   

We can’t wait to see many new and familiar faces on the netball courts again very soon.  Go Bullants! 

Grading Update: We are waiting on information from SCNA to be able to open our Bullants registration portal. We are eager to get everyone on court as soon as practical so we can start sorting players into teams, this will mean a short registration window, so you will need to register quickly once the portal is open.

SCNA is hosting Netball ACT’s Come and Try Netball for 5-10yr olds this Saturday between 9am and 11am at the Deakin courts. More information and an enrolment details on the SCNA Facebook page linked below.

Change to Grading Commencement: Unfortunately grading will not commence on 15th February as SCNA will not have finalised the information that we need to open the Bullants Registration Portal prior to this date. We will update you as soon as we have further information.

Senior Representative Netball: SCNA is looking for players for the 2023 Senior Rep Netball season.  There will be 5 teams – Women’s Open Div 1 and Div 2, Men’s division, Women’s U17 and U19s. Details regarding trial dates and season are included in the link below (apologies this is being communicated late).

Wednesday 15 February. Please mark your calendar for the commencement of grading for team allocations for the 2023 Winter season. Grading continues for 3-4 weeks and then weekly training commences immediately once the teams are announced.

5.30-6.30pm Juniors (yr 5 & 6)

6.30-7.30pm Inters (yr 7-9)

7.30-8.30pm Seniors (yr 10 upwards)

Online registrations for the 2023 Winter season will open soon (we are waiting on final information from South Canberra Netball Association (SCNA). We look forward to seeing our new and returning players on court.

Bullants

Today sees the last netball matches for Twilight netball for 2022, with our NSG Set and Go teams having one last hit out. Bernadette will be near the pavilion at the end of the matches to receive your kit bags.

Any managers/team coordinators for our older teams who have not yet returned their kit bags, please drop in before 7pm at the courts and Bernadette will take them off your hands. If you can’t make it tonight, please send us an email so we can arrange an alternative collection time.

The committee wishes all our Bullants community and safe and happy summer break. We’ll be calling for registrations for winter comp in late January/early Feb (ie. prior to school returning) so keep an eye out for that.

Kit Bag return: This Tuesday (6th) and Wednesday (7th) and the following Monday (12th) is the last round of the Twilight Season. Please remember to return your kit bag to a committee member at the pavilion after your game and have it signed back in.

Have you been waiting to pierce your ears? Xmas is the best time to get your ears pierced if you have been waiting patiently all season. If you pierce at Xmas, enough time will have lapsed so you will be able remove your earrings and take the court for the 2023 winter season.

Playing in Winter 2023? Registrations will open end January 2023, Grading commences February 2023 (either Week 2 or Week 3 of Term 1). Put a reminder in your calendar now!

Message from South Canberra Netball Association (SCNA) re: representative netball: Trials for the 2023 SCNA Junior Representative season will be held on Sat 4th February and Sat 11th February, 2023. Save the date now. On each trial day, we will be looking at skills and performance in both training drills and match play. So be prepared to come for an extended session that will run for most of the day. Timings will be advertised in early January.

Kit Bags return: Please remember to drop off your kit bag at the end of the last game 5/6/7 December. We will collect them at the pavilion.

2023 Winter Comp: Registrations will open end of January 2023. Grading will commence early February 2023.

SCNA have advised 6.20 games will play.

SCNA have cancelled the 5.30 netball games due to rain and continuing storm warnings. A decision about the 6.20 games will be made a little later on. Keep an eye out for updates.
