We get by with a little help from our friends

BBQ & Canteen Duty
Bullants has BBQ duty on Saturday 5 September (that’s this weekend).  We use the funds raised at the BBQ to pay for our End of Season  party.  Please give a little of your time to help out.  We need 4 volunteers each time slot from 8:30 am – 1:30 pm (or there about).  We also have a canteen duty from 9:50 – 11:00am.  SIGN UP HERE TO HELP     UPDATE: The 8:30 -9:30 slot on the BBQ and the Canteen duty is full; thank you to our volunteers.  More needed at the other times please.

End of season PARTY & Presentation
Just a reminder that we had to move the party forward by one week to WEDNESDAY 16 SEPTEMBER. Deakin Netball Courts 5:45 to 7pm. We need a couple of sausage cookers to rule the BBQ on the night so please volunteer at the time of RSVPing.  Please bring the family to celebrate the season.
So that we can adequately cater, please RSVP HERE

The final two rounds of competition

I indicated in the last post that Shawnee was the first of the Bullants teams through to finals however I forgot about the other teams that play in a division with only six teams as such have completed two full rounds of competition.  So lets add Sioux, Comanche and Arapaho to the list of teams that have made finals.  These teams will still play the next two rounds however the points wont count.

Welcome back – Saturday 29 August 2015

Despite the break in competition, it has been quite busy at Bullants.  Some of players scored an invite to Parliament House to a reception hosted by PM Tony Abbott for the Australian Netball Diamonds.  They enjoyed morning tea before the ceremony started and then got to meet the players after the official ceremony.

GAMES 29 August 2015
We are down to the last two rounds of the competition before the finals start.
Cree has the BYE this weekend.
Shawnee Junior Division 3 has completed their two full rotations of games in the draw and as such while the last two games will be played, they will not impact on the finals results.  Congratulations Shawnee, you are the first Bullants team to make it to the finals round.

TEAM PHOTOS
Please be at the courts a few minutes early this week so that I can take your team photos.

Congratulations
Congratulations to Caitlin Hanna, Eloise Millington and Olivia Cummins (former Bullant) on their selection in the Develop a Diamond Squad.  Great effort to all our Bullants who trialed.

Summer Comp
Please start thinking about if you/your child would like to play summer comp.  We will have registration for the competition in the next few week and usually we rely very heavily on parents to coordinate the team on game day .  Summer comp is a very social environment – kids play a game, get a snag from the BBQ for dinner, and mum and dad can even get a team together. The competition starts Wednesday October 21 and runs for 8 weeks.

Training cancelled due to extreme weather

Brr.  Not safe to train tonight. Stay warm everyone.

Saturday 8 August games

Lots of netball happening at the moment with the start of the WorldCup today.   While we will play this weekend, the following two weekends are breaks in the draw again; the first for the World Cup and the second for U 11 & 12 Junior Championships.  Training WILL CONTINUE despite the breaks.

This week Mohicans have the bye.

SAVE THE DATE: The Bullants end of season CELEBRATION has been moved forward one week to WEDNESDAY September 16 as stage 1 of the SCNA court refurbishment means the courts will be closed immediately after the Grand final.  Teams who make the grand final will be offered an alternate night to train.  The Bullants Annual General Meeting is also being brought forward to coincide with the BBQ.  It will begin at 7:15 pm and everyone is welcome.  All positions will be vacated and this is your chance to have input into how the club is run.  It would be great to have a representative from each of our teams attending.

Saturday 1 August

All the best to the Bullants players representing SCNA in the U13, U14 & U15 Junior Championships this weekend.  We know you will play hard and give it your best efforts.

As a result of junior championships being held this weekend there will be no games played at Deakin on Saturday.

TRAINING – regardless of whether there are games on Saturdays, training is still scheduled each Wednesday.  The only exception to this is when there is a wet weather cancellation.

Committee meeting – The Bullants committee is meeting on Saturday 1 August to organise the end of season BBQ and summer competition.  If you would like to be involved in any aspect of club operations please join us at the Deakin Courts at 10:30 am.

Saturday 25 July games

It looks like tomorrow’s National Netball day is going to be a damp one!

A wet weather draw has been created for NSG Set to get the games off the grass courts.  This will affect Chinook who were due to play on the grass.  They will now only play a half game starting at 9:23 am. Please be at the courts by 9 am.

Team photos – Shawnee need to have their team photo tomorrow.  Please be at the courts in full uniform by 10:30. If it is not raining we will take the photo down in the pavilion car park.

Canteen – Sioux is on canteen duty from 9:50-11 am which if the weather is bad might be the best place to be.

Cancellations – any cancellation will only be made close to game start time so please come prepared to play.  All cancellations will be notified on the website.

Training cancelled Wed 22 July

It looks like the rain may continue into the afternoon so we are cancelling training.  The courts currently have a lot of water pooling on them. Here’s hoping the weather will be fine for National Netball Day on Saturday.
