Super coaches

Congratulations to the 5 Bullants coaches who spent 8 hours today gaining their level 1  (Development) coaching qualification.  They are well on the way to becoming the next Lisa Alexander.  Take a bow Bec, Emma, Jade, Kristen and Nat. If you are interested in Netball Australia’s coaching pathways you can read all about it http://netball.com.au/get-involved/coaching/coaching-accreditation/

Bullants are happy to support any person who would like to start their coaching qualification.  The Foundation coaching course is now offered online and as with previous years we will refund 50% of the course fee on completion of the course.  To sign up to the Foundation Coaching course visit this webpage http://netball.com.au/get-involved/coaching/accreditation-2/

Great Start to the Season!

Thankyou

Thankyou to everyone who has helped us have a fantastic start to the season, we are up and running and have finally managed to sort out all our teams as we head into the school holiday break. We are still looking for some team managers and Div 1 umpires for the remainder of the season so if you would like to help out send us an email.

Training

As many of our cohort will be away this week and a fair number of our Bullants players and coaches heading to New Zealand (good luck and enjoy girls!) we will have training for our NSG and Juniors only. If any other team really wants to train, they can come between 5.30 and 6.30 to train at the same time.

Parents and Helpers

Just a reminder to all our wonderful parents to abide by the SCNA Code of Conduct and be a positive influence for our players and officials. After the break we will be introducing our Foundation Umpires into the Junior timeslot where they will be coached and mentored and we need to remember to be supportive of these new umpires as they gain new skills. While we LOVE cheering, please be mindful that your over enthusiastic comments can sometimes be misconstrued by the opposition.

Congratulations

Congratulations to our lovely Coaching Coordinator and Kiowa coach Meg Weston who recently got married. We wish the happy couple a lifetime of happiness and wonderful memories.

SCNA AGM

SCNA are holding their AGM this Wednesday 7.00pm, all positions will be declared vacant. If you would like to contribute to the running of the district, particularly anyone who would consider being Treasurer, please head along on Wednesday.

Lastly, have a great break and we will see you all back at the courts for training on the 27th April.

Umpire NEW RULES information session

SCNA is running a new rules Information Session hosted by Carmel Weatherburn (AA badge) ahead of our season starting.
Whistle
The session is scheduled for 4.00-6.00pm Monday 14 March at South Canberra clubhouse.
Please advise if you can attend ( scna.umpires@gmail.com) as it would be great for as many umpires as possible to be familiar with the changes as they will take some time to get used to for coaches, players and officials.

New Rule Books will be available to purchase from South Canberra at a cost of $15 each.

Below are the links to the information and videos released by Netball Australia if you haven’t already seen them:

Join us at the movies – A private screening of Zootopia

SCNA is taking a squad of U15 and U17 players to New Zealand in April.  To help reduce the costs we are fundraising and we need your help.  So why not come to the movies with us?  Our first movie fundraiser was a great success and now we want to share that experience with our junior players and families (of course the big girls can come too).  We will be selling tickets at the courts on Wednesday evening so don’t miss out.

Grading continues and Uniform pickup

Grading will continue tomorrow (Wednesday).  It is going to be a hot one so please ensure you have a water bottle or two and a towel that you can wet down.

We will have uniform to pick up with the following exceptions:

  • If you ordered a size 14 or 16 dress on or after 11 Feb 2016.  These are now on back order and will take approximately 4 or 5 weeks till delivery.  If they haven’t arrived before the first grading then players are to wear black skirt/shorts and white shirt or Bullants shirt.

Grading starts today

We are excited as today marks the official start of our season! NSG and Juniors at 5:30 pm, Inters at 6:30 pm and Seniors at 7:30 pm.  Please note these are start times so please be at the courts earlier to check in.

Please come to the courts ready to start; have a full drink bottle, all jewellery removed and proper training clothing ( shorts, tshirt, SPORTS SHOES).  Juniors and Inters on arrival please check in to the desk to get a number.

If you haven’t tried uniform we will try to help you tonight however please be aware that our focus this evening is grading and we can’t be in two places at once.

The best place to park is in the King Street car park then walk down to the grass courts and along to the pavilion.

Looking forward to welcoming our Bullants family back 😀

Uniform Try ons and Registration

Don’t forget to come and try on uniforms this afternoon.  All NSG, Juniors, Inters and Seniors are wearing the A Line dress this year.

We need uniforms to be ordered asap so we can place an order with the supplier.

We also need registrations completed by Friday so we can start working out our grading teams.  Grading starts next Wednesday; NSG & Juniors at 5:30 pm, Inters at 6:30 pm, Seniors at 7:30 pm

Webstore update

Thanks to those families who came down and tried on uniform today.  The webstore has just had a little hiccup but hopefully we are back on track now.  If you placed an order and couldn’t pay then just flick us an email and I will see if we have the order.  If you still need to pay for your uniform you can do so by depositing into our account:

Bullants Netball Club
BSB: 062905
Account number: 00902761

Thanks for your support and fingers crossed the technology will be nice to us from here on in.

Uniform Try on and Registration help TODAY

Just a reminder we will be down at the courts this afternoon (3 Feb) and also next Wednesday (10 Feb) from 5:30 pm – 7 pm for uniform try ons and registration help.  Once sized the uniform will need to be ordered through our webstore.  The link to the WEBSTORE is now live and can be found on the UNIFORM page of the website.

To help speed up the sizing process please have a look at the Dress Sizing guide.  The sizing on these dresses is NOT real world sizing (eg. if you are a size 12 in the real world you are likely to be a 16 or 18 in the netball dress world).  While this is a guide we would still recommend you try on a dress to get a perfect fit.

Got a dress or hoodie you no longer need?
Donations – If you are happy to donate your uniform items then please bring them into training and we will find a new home for them (No old t-shirts please as we no longer use this item).
For Sale – If you would like to sell your uniform, please place an advertisement on the notice board outside the umpires room. Include description, price and contact details.

Registration Time!
