Bullants Netball Club Inc.

With much sadness we have decided to cancel our end of year celebration scheduled for tonight.  Usually we hold off until the last minute to make decisions regarding the weather however with so much food on order we have called it early so as to not have wastage.  Our party night is our way of acknowledging our fantastic volunteers within our community.  So here is a shout out….THANKYOU, we couldn’t support 18 teams without you!

Umpires: Huge thanks to Meghan who sorted umpires each week.  We love our umpires and value the contribution they make…THANK YOU!

Managers – they are far and few between these days but we totally love it when someone takes on these roles so THANK YOU!

Everyone who scored, worked in the canteen or bbq or generally helped out…THANK YOU!

We will have team photos available at summer comp for pick up.

Our AGM will still be held at the pavilion at 7pm.  Everyone is invited to take on a role to keep the club going.

How wonderful was it to have the sun shining on Grand Final day?  Our 5 Bullants teams gave well above 100% in every game and we couldn’t be more proud of their effort even when the game didn’t go their way.  Well done girls, you pushed on even when you got tired,  injured or played your least favourite position and that reflects great sportsmanship.  Big cheers to the Chiefs, Senior Division 2 Champs for 2016!

Unfortunately the rain looks like spoiling our party on Wednesday night!  We will keep a weather eye out and make a decision on Wednesday morning as to whether we go ahead.  Any cancellation notice will be posted here and Facebook so check in throughout the day.

AGM – Regardless of the weather we will hold our AGM at Deakin on Wednesday 21 Sept at 7pm.  Feel free to come along and volunteer to keep the club going!

Summer comp – Keep those regos coming in and if you are a parent champion who is organising a team, send us your player names and team name so we can make sure we have all the friends together.  We have quite a lot of new families coming to Bullants for summer so if you need some extra players let us know and we can pop our new players in.

5 Bullants teams will take the grand final challenge today. Good luck to all players and coaches. Win, lose or draw you are all awesome! 

Sadly for our 5 teams going into Saturday’s grand finals we are cancelling training.  It seems we just can’t get a break in the weather.  Hopefully the rain will leave us alone on Saturday and next Wednesday for our end of season Party.  Have you RSVPd yet?  Check out the link on the post from last week to do so.

Cheer squads welcomed at our 5 Grand Final games next week; 3 in juniors (10:30 pm) and 2 in Seniors (2 pm).  See you then!

Wet weather – The decision to cancel the games due to the weather will not be made until just before the time slot in which the game is to be played so please BE PREPARED TO PLAY.  As per usual you will find wet weather info on the website and Facebook page only if there is a cancellation.

Bullants has 7 teams competing for the title of Division Champion. Good luck teams. The following teams will play in the Semi Finals tomorrow:
10 am – Junior Div 2 – Cherokee
11 am – Juniors Div 1 – Mohicans
11 am – Juniors Div 3 – Shawnee
12 pm – Inters Div 2 – Kiowa
2 pm – Seniors Div 1 – Navajo
2 pm – Seniors Div 1 – Comanche
3:15 pm Seniors Div 2 – Chiefs

Supporters are asked to follow the directions posted at the courts as to where you can stand and cheer.  The bench (players and coach) as well as the scorer will be on one side of the court and supporters will be cheering on the other (Go Bullants!).  Each team must supply one scorer who will stand with the other team scorer throughout the whole game.  We appreciate that it gets very exciting at finals times so here’s a link if you need a refresher on the CODES OF CONDUCT.

Congratulations to the teams who have made it through to round 1 of the finals this weekend.  Training will be on for you tonight 😃

Saturday will be a big day down at SCNA.  It is the last round of the season proper and for some players it will be their last game. Thank you so much for your commitment to the season. We hope to have you playing with Bullants again in the summer or next year.

NSG presentations will be held straight after the game at 9:45 am. As soon as the game is complete come on down to Court 2 and sit with your team.

The SCNA Volunteer of the Year awards will be announced at 11:50 am.  Could all players and their supporters at the courts at that time please assemble on Court 2. It is really important that we acknowledge those individuals who work hard for our community.  Please join us in congratulating the following Bullants nominees:

Following the party we will hold our Annual General Meeting. Everyone is invited and we are always looking for parents or our Senior players to step up and take on an organisational role to keep the club going (zero experience necessary – all training provided).
