Bullants Netball Club Inc.

This evening is Round one of the SCNA Twilight Social Comp and we have 14 teams playing across all divisions.  So here is a few housekeeping items to help us start the social season.

1. Umpires – we need you!!! Please reply to Meaghan’s email if you haven’t already.  Parents this is a great place to start your umpiring career, so please get in touch if you are keen.
2. Warm up is very important (even when it is warm).  Please turn up to the courts 30 minutes before the start of your game (5pm Juniors; 6pm Inters; 7pm or 8pm Seniors).  Today Bullants will have a table set up under the trees near the BBQ.  This will be a great place to start this week if you are unsure of who is on your team.
3. Come GAME READY – this is hair tied back, ALL JEWELRY REMOVED (no sorry you can’t tape your piercings), fingernails trimmed and a drink bottle.
4. Volunteers – We are all volunteers so please help share the load by offering to help in any way you can.  This might be player wrangling, umpiring, water bottle filling, scoring, setting up or taking down the pole wrappers and bins or helping out in the canteen or BBQ.
5. Draws – are up on the SCNA website or you can download the MyNetball app from your favourite app store.  They are subject to change so check often.
6. Weather – expect to play unless something is posted on the SCNA website/Facebook page (I will post to the Bullants site as well but it wont be until after SCNA is updated).
7. Animals – we love them but please don’t bring them to the courts.
8. Parking – The Pavilion carpark is reserved for disabled parking and Members of the SCNA Executive and Council.  Makin Place gets very congested with Touch Football also being played so best parking is in the King Street Carpark.

I have closed off all registrations and emails have been sent tonight to NSG, Juniors and Inters families with team details.  Seniors you are on my Tuesday To-Do list.

I am still looking for 2 or 3 Inters players (div 3 & 4 level).  Let me know if you are keen.

If you are intending to play Twilight Social Comp PLEASE get your registration in NOW.  Late registrations make it very hard to set up a competition as we need to add additional teams.  If you have friends joining Bullants for the first time make sure they know to register NOW.

A reminder that our Bullants Annual General Meeting follows our presentations tonight at 7PM at the Deakin Soccer Club.  We need a new group of champions to ensure Bullants can continue its very long tradition of providing netball opportunities to players of all ages and skills.  Please consider volunteering for a role…WE NEED YOU!

SCNA will hold a Twilight Social Comp (formerly Summer Comp) from Wednesday 11 October for 8 rounds.  Information and Sign up [Link] is now available at the website for all age groups except NSG SET  (Year 2 & 3) as I am still trying to get that to work. Hopefully I will have it live in the next few days so stay tuned.

The price for all players is $80 plus processing fee (please let me know if the form wants to charge you more or less).

We rely on parents to organise players in our NSG/Junior/ and Inters teams.

Good luck to our teams in the semi final rounds on Saturday.

All Juniors games are at 10:30 am, and all other divisions at normal times. All teams will need a scorer who will stand with the opposition scorer for the entire game.

It’s a big day down at SCNA on Saturday.

1. Last round of NSG SET with presentations to follow on Court 2
2. Last round of Juniors Go with presentations to follow on Court 2
3. Last round of the season proper for Juniors, Inters and Seniors. Some teams will progress to the finals and others will not. If you arent then I hope you have enjoyed the season and we are looking forward to celebrating with you at our end of season Party on Wednesday 20 Sept.
4. 11:50 am – Volunteer of the Year awards presented. ALL players, officials and Spectators to assemble on Court 2. Inters div 2 & 4 games will be delayed until after the ceremony. Please make sure you thank our volunteers.
5. Charity day – wear something red and donate to our charity Cystic Fibrosis ACT.
6. The final round of the M-League at 3.15. Come and cheer for the SCNA mens team in their final home game of the season.
7. Team photos for any teams that havent been snapped 😁

It’s nearly time to wrap up the Winter season which means it’s nearly time to party.  This year we won’t be beaten by the rain as we are taking it indoors.
