First training this week – 12 February

Hi to all our Bullants families,

We’ve had a good response so far for registrations for winter comp. Please finalise your registrations now. It helps enormously with organising coaches/grading if we know how many players we have.

The link for the registration page is here.

Our main communication is through the blog site and facebook. Please register from our wordpress site: https://bullantsnetball.wordpress.com/  If training is cancelled due to weather – this is the site where we will post that information.

A reminder: Juniors training time is 5.30 to 6.60. Inters from 6.30 to 7.30 and Seniors from 7.30 to 8.30.
Parents you are not required to stay for training – although if you wish to help out, we welcome assistance and one of the committee will be able to put you to good use.

If you have old uniforms you wish to donate to the club – feel free to bring them along to training. We will also have sizes to try on for new uniforms.

Coaches, unless the committee has already been in touch you don’t need to attend grading this week.

If you have any queries please contact us at bullantsnetball@gmail.com.

Bullants Winter Netball – Registrations Close 10 February

Hi to all our Bullants families,

We’ve had a good response to our request for registrations for winter comp, but really need to see many more being completed. We start team selections for all Year 5 & 6 junior, intermediate and seniors teams for the winter comp on Wednesday 12 February (that’s next week!!). Accordingly we need registrations completed by 10 February to allow the committee a bit of time to prepare for our first session. So, keep those registrations rolling in. The link for the registration page is here.

If you have any queries please contact us at bullantsnetball@gmail.com.

Netball Season Here we Come…..

Dear Bullants Community

Congratulations for a successful summer league. Well done to all players, umpires, managers and supporters.

The Committee have been busy planning for the 2020 Winter Season and registrations now open.

Here is the link to register: http://bullants.act.netball.com.au/Winter-competition.aspx?rw=c

We will have our first grading night for Juniors Go (Year 4), Juniors (Years 5 & 6), Intermediates and Seniors on Wednesday 12th February 2020 (second week back at school).

Please register by 10th February!

If you have any questions please email us at bullantsnetball@gmail.com.

As is our usual practise, NetSetGo, Juniors Go and Juniors will train from 5.30-6.30pm, Inters from 6.30-7.30pm and Seniors from 7.30-8.30pm.

As a club we will have 3 weeks of grading and finalise our teams so formal within team training will start on 4 March.

Netsetgo players will also begin training on 4 March from 5.30-6.30pm – there is no grading for this group.

SCNA will have 2 weeks of competition grading this year (28 March and 4 April) to sort teams into their appropriate competition grade.

The first points game of the season is 2 May and the season runs for 13 weeks.

Please remember to maintaining some basic fitness over the rest of summer so that you will be ready for 2020 – it will be here before you know it.

If you are interested in coaching or umpiring and have not yet contacted us please do so via email at bullantsnetball@gmail.com.

We also have all sorts of roles that provide a great opportunity to be a part of our Bullants community. It takes players, coaches, umpires, managers, treasurers, uniform sorters, kit bag packers, bloggers, sausage sizzlers and much more to build a strong club.

Please consider becoming involved to strengthen our club.

Twilight Netball Cancelled

Hi all Bullants families.

Due to the extreme weather forecast for tomorrow SCNA has cancelled the last round of twilight netball. Although regrettable it is better to ensure the safety and health of all players.

We ask that managers come to the courts to return the kit bags. Someone from the committee will be there from 6 until 6.30 to collect the bags. Please contact us at bullantsnetball@gmail.com if that time is not convenient so that an alternative time to return the bag can be arranged.

We will communicate with you early in 2020 to let you know about winter netball. In the meantime we hope you have a happy and safe summer break.

AGM – 27 October 2019

This post is to provide an update following the AGM held this evening.

The 2019 AGM elected the following Bullants Executive Committee:

  • President:  Meghan Quinn
  • Vice-President:  Tanya Parkin
  • Treasurer and Registrar:  Bernadette Mihaljevic
  • Secretary and Public Officer: Heather Bond
  • Uniform and Equipment Coordinator:  Belinda James
  • Umpire Coordinator:  Julie Glover
  • Coach Coordinator: Heather Bond
  • Manager Coordinator: Rachel Davidson
  • General Committee Members: Perdi Mitchell, Rachel Davidson and Michelle Evans

The club is in good health, with the number of teams holding steady, strong results in the winter league, our finances strong, and high community engagement through the committee, coaches, umpires, managers and the entire Bullants family.

The committee are always thinking about opportunities to make the next seasons even better. So if you have thoughts or suggestions please email them (bullantsnetball@gmail.com).

As with all volunteer clubs many hands make light work. All help is welcome. You do not need to have particular expertise and being a volunteer looks great on a CV (hint hint for those students). If you would like to find out more, please email us at bullantnetball@gmail.com, ask a committee member, or come to our next committee meeting on 15 December, 6.30pm at the SCNA courts.

Meghan Quinn, President

Twilight update

The second game of twilight netball is tomorrow night. There will be quite a few cars at the venue due to events happening on surrounding ovals, so please take that into account.

For the 5pm time slot SCNA has changed the draw – so please check the website for the right court just before the game.

A reminder of the times:

Have fun.

Bullants AGM

Dear Bullants Community,

We are having our AGM this Sunday, 6.30pm at the SCNA club house.

The Bullants netball club is run by volunteers.

The more help we have the better we can run the club and the easier it is to provide a wonderful netball experience for all our players, coaches, umpires, managers and supporters.

You do not need to have netball experience to contribute. There are lots of jobs that can be done by anyone.

We would welcome feedback on what has worked well, not so well, and how we can improve for the year ahead.

Please join us on Sundays if you can – all are welcome.

Bullants Committee

Welcome to Bullants Twilight Netball

We hope everyone is very excited about the beginning of the Twilight netball competition this evening.  A couple of reminders:

1. Committee members will be available to assist you at the table under our banner near the grass courts. If you’re unsure where to go, please come and ask. Managers, that’s where you can collect your kit bags.

2. Team composition has not taken into account your preferred playing positions. We encourage you to be flexible about which position you play. You never know, you may find a position that suits your skills better than you thought!

3. This is a social competition. It’s meant to be fun, so don’t take it too seriously.

The court layout can be a bit confusing to players new to the association, so here is a map to help you. Again, if you’re not sure where to go just come and ask.

We hope you have a great season.
