Someone left their glasses in a blue case on the Bullants table last Saturday. If that was you, see us at training tonight and we will return them to you.
We are currently having technical difficulties with the registration set-up for the NSG Set Twilight Comp. We are working on it and will let you know as soon as it has been fixed.
Thanks to the sharp-eyed mum who noted that there is no option within the survey for Juniors players to nominate their players’ player. When I re-read the post, I realised it wasn’t clear what was intended (shouldn’t be doing netball admin so late at night!!).
NSG, JuniorsGo and Juniors players will make their nominations via their coach, who will collate the votes and advise the committee. Hope that clarifies things….
As mentioned in our post last week we are currently working towards the end-of-season presentations and twilight comp, and need your responses.
Players’ Player Awards
We need all Inters and Seniors players to nominate their players’ player by 27 September 2020. You can do so online here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QZXM5WM Remember, this award is for the player who makes you feel most included in the team and who you most enjoy playing netball with, not who you think is the “best” player or who you may have the best friendship with.
Coaches will be talking to NSG, JuniorsGo and Juniors players about their nominations. It would help if parents talked to their young players about the purpose of this award as noted above, prior to them coming to training on Wednesday.
The cut off date for registrations is strictly 30 September. LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
If you, your child or your friend intends to play with Bullants in the twilight comp, please register asap. SCNA have advised that, due to Covid19 restrictions, participation will be on a first-come-first-served basis, so we cannot delay getting our team nominations in.
If winter teams wish to stay together, or there are a group of players that wish to play together, please let us know each players’ name as soon as possible by emailing us at bullantsnetball@gmail.com. We will create teams as players register and immediately nominate them to SCNA, so the earlier we have this information the earlier we can get our teams in and be sure of getting a place in the comp.
We are nearing the end of the winter season, with just three weeks of games left to play. The season has flown by this year, with Covid19 restrictions and wet weather cancellations. Accordingly, your committee’s attention has turned to activities to wrap up the winter season and to start work on the Twilight/Social Competition.
END OF SEASON
Team Photos
We are hoping to take photos of all teams prior to their games this Saturday. We ask that all teams meet on the oval near the Bullants table 30 minutes before your scheduled game time. Please don’t be late, as it would be a shame for you to miss your team photo. Ensure you are in proper uniform as it makes for a better photo. Coaches, remember to wear your coach hoodie!
Coaches, please let the committee know if you are aware of absences this week so we can schedule photos for the later weeks.
Player Awards
As in previous seasons, we will be presenting awards to players in each team as follows:
Players’ Player – All teams Excellence – Juniors Go and up Improvement – Juniors Go and up
For NSG, Juniors Go and Juniors teams, the coaches will be collecting and collating the Players’ Player nominations. For Inters and Seniors, we will send you a link to nominate your Players’ player on-line. Nominations and awards will need to be completed by 26 September, the last Saturday of the winter season.
End of Season Presentation – Save the Date!
Due to Covid19 restrictions we have to modify the format for our End of Season Presentation. Instead of the usual whole-of-club function we will be conducting a fun and social “training” afternoon/evening on Wednesday 14 October. Players should attend the courts at the time of their usual winter season training session, at which we will have the awards presentation and some fun games etc. Some individualised snacks that meet Covid-safe standards will be provided.
Annual General Meeting
SCNA will be holding their AGM on 23 September. If you would like Bullants to raise any observations, questions please send us an email. Bullants will be holding our AGM in October, with a date to be notified shortly.

The cost is $80 per player. However, any player who participated in the winter comp will receive a discount, which will be applied when they register for the twilight comp. We do not know the amount of the discount yet nor how the registrations will operate in practice, but hope to have that information soon. Details to follow…..
As it is a social comp, we do not conduct trials to place players into teams. Rather teams are formed on an adhoc basis. So if your winter team wishes to stay together for the twilight comp, or there is another player (or players) that you wish to be placed into a team with, please email us at bullantsnetball@gmail.com and we will do our best to accommodate that.
We do not train for the twilight comp, and there are no formalised coaching arrangements. However, we will need a manager (or it could be a team of 2-3 managers) for each of the younger teams to bring the kit bag each week, help the kids get on court and to score. Please consider volunteering for this important role, the younger teams will not be able to function without someone helping them.
If you have any questions about the twilight comp, please email us.
The weather is forecast for fine, sunny and a top of 17 degrees….. perfect netball weather! Don’t forget to use sunscreen.
We won’t have the banner up from now on, but we will still be meeting in the same spot on the western side of the courts.
Some teams are playing split rounds tomorrow. This means you will play two half-games. The SCNA fixtures page is a little confusing, so below is a list of the affected teams:
Juniors Div 1 Cherokee – game 1 on court 4, game 2 on court 8
Juniors Div 2 Zuni – game 1 on court 7, game 2 on court 5 Arapaho – game 1 on court 1, game 2 on court 7
Juniors Div 3 Comanche – game 1 on court 1, game 2 on court 5 Mohicans – game 1 on court 7, game 2 on court 1 Chickasaws – game 1 on court 7, game 2 also on court 7
Intermediates Div 1 Cheyenne – game 1 on court 8, game 2 on court 4
Intermediates Div 2 Kiowa – game 1 on court 1, game 2 on court 2 Braves – game 1 on court 4 and game 2 on court 6
There is a very short turn around between games, so coaches and managers/scorers will need to be very organised to get the players to their second game. At least all teams except Kiowa are playing in the same zone. We will find out before tomorrow if you have to leave the courts and re-enter, or if you will be able to just change zones, and advise your coaching team.
SCNA has advised that games are proceeding today as per the draw.
It will be cold at the courts, so make sure you rug up. Younger players, in particular, should wear black long sleeves and long legs under their dresses.
Netball courts are very wet, with more rain and wind gusts on the way. To keep everyone safe and well, committee has decided to cancel netball training today.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed that the weather clears up for Saturday. Stay warm everyone.
