Training Continues / Last Minute Uniforms

Great to be back on the courts on Saturday! Well done and thank you to everyone who put up their hand to assist in our smooth operations – as umpires, scorers, managers, coaches and canteen helpers, every little bit counts to helping our club operate smoothly.

Training continues this Wednesday but will stop for two weeks over the school holidays. Also, if you need a uniform/hoody/socks please come to the pavillion from 5.45pm-6.25pm this Wednesday and speak to a committee member.

Here’s some dates for your calendar:

Wednesday 31st March – training

Wednesday 21st April – training

Saturday 24th April – Grading Day (Juniors, Inters and Seniors)

Wednesday 28th April – training

Saturday 1st May – Competition Round 1

Email us at Bullantsnetball@gmail.com if you need and don’t forget to look out on the SCNA website/facebook page for game-day weather updates.

2 X 8 mins halves; 1 min half break
5 mins to transition to next court or leave at the end.

Go well Bullants and have fun being back on court. Make sure you warm up before your first game and are ready to play from the first whistle. There’s no coming home strong in the 4th qtr! This is the first of two Grading days (second grading 24th April) to determine what grade your team is in for the 2021 season.

Collect your Team Kit Bag Tomorrow

We hope all teams have now found a Team Manager. Could all Managers’ please collect their Team’s kit bag tomorrow at training. Kit bags contain the game balls and bibs that you will need for the grading day on Saturday 27th March. Could all Managers’ also send an email to the Bullants email address advising the team that you are looking after so that we can get urgent club messages to you throughout the season. If your team does not yet have a Manager, coaches please collect the team bag tomorrow. Teams cannot function without a nominated Manager.

King Street entrance | The King St entrance will be open tomorrow. This is our preferred entrance for drop off/pick up. Parents will still be required to stay outside the fence, unless they are the Team Manager collecting the kit bag.

Jewellery/Watches Removed and no new piercings – please remember to remove earrings before coming to training and remove your watch/fitbit before taking the court. Also, no new piercings from now until after the netball season if you want to be on court – no taped piercings allowed.

See everyone at training tomorrow for a good session in preparation for SCNA Grading Saturday 27th March.

Training Commences Tomorrow

With four weeks of grading now complete, we have formed 25 teams for over 240 players! Yesterday you should have received an email announcing your 2021 team and where possible, your coach. We are still looking for more coaches. In particular we have a couple of teams that have moved from Inters to Seniors (Yr 10+) who could really appreciate simply having someone guide them at training. This is a critical age that teenage girls can drop out of sport and as a community we need to support them in every way to continue to participate. Please send us an email if you can assist in any way.

Training times:

NetSet SET & GO (Yr 2,3 and 4): 5.30-6.30pm

Juniors (Yr 5 & 6): 5.30-6.30pm

Inters (Yr 7-9): 6.30-7.30pm

Seniors: (Yr 10+): 7.30-8.30pm

As always: hair tied back, jewelry (watches & earrings) removed, fingernails cut short, bring a drink bottle and a jumper as the weather starts to cool.

If we can open the King St entrance we will, but currently our Covid plan doesn’t allow this. Tomorrow is a new day and things are constantly changing – keep a lookout.

Last week for uniforms: If you haven’t got a dress for the season, tomorrow is the last opportunity to try on and purchase your dress or other uniform items. Open from 5.30pm for as long as volunteer commitments allow. We cannot man the uniform store and train teams too!

Grading Days – Please put Saturday 27th March and 24th April in your calendars. These are SCNA Grading Days where the Bullants teams play a variety of teams from other clubs to determine the most suitable grade for the upcoming season. We don’t have any more details as to times etc, but expect a good few hours and potentially a ’round robin’ style event.

See everyone tomorrow for the first official training!

Grading Continues and Welcome to Net Set NET/GO/SET this Wednesday

Welcome to our Grades 2, 3 and 4 players this Wednesday for our NetSet NET, NetSet SET and NetSet GO divisions. Your training session is 5.15-6.15pm.

The Uniform Shop will be open from 5.30pm so please be sure to get your uniform this week. This is the last week our volunteers can man the shop, so be sure to drop by on Wednesday if you need a Bullants dress. Please look out for the Covid-friendly layout.

For our Juniors/Inters and Seniors players, we have almost finalised all players into teams but there are a few players that have not yet been allocated to a team. We will conduct a final grading session this week to check over our teams before team announcements are made next week. Please remember to write your GRADING NUMBER on your arms and legs and make sure it is visible from a distance. Please REMOVE EARRINGS and watches and make sure your hair is tied back.

We are looking for more PARENT COACHES. Come and share your netball knowledge and develop our players. Please send us an email to register your interest. Keep in mind that we can group parents as co-coaches if you need a lesser time commitment or if you feel your coaching skills could do with some additional input.

We look forward to seeing our whole club at the courts this Wednesday. It will be very busy, so please arrive early to be on court at your allocated time.

NET SET Program & Juniors: 5.15-6.15pm

Inters: 6.30-7.30pm

Seniors: 7.30-8.30pm

Grading Continues Tomorrow and Uniform Shop Open

We look forward to seeing all our Juniors / Inters / Seniors again tomorrow for Week 2 of grading. Remember Kindy-Yr4 (NetSetGo), you get to stay at home again! Same timeslots – 5.15pm Juniors; 6.30pm Inters and 7.30pm Seniors.

Please REMEMEBER to write YOUR NUMBER on your arms and legs to save us time and maximise court time.

The uniform shop will be open from 5.30pm once we have the Juniors on court. Parents if you need to try on a dress with your daughter, do it AFTER their grading session. Please remember to sanitise as you enter the courts.

See everyone tomorrow and feel free to approach your friendly committee with any questions (send us an email or speak to us in person – we are recognisable in our Bullants shirts) .

Grading starts tomorrow!

We look forward to seeing all our Juniors / Inters and Seniors back on court tomorrow for Grading. No grading is required for the NetSetGo players (K – Grade 4).

Grading runs for 3 weeks – 10, 17 and 24 February. Times as follows:

5.15pm-6.15pm Juniors (yr 5 & yr6)

6.30pm-7.30pm Inters (Yr 7 – Yr 9)

7.30pm-8.30pm Seniors (yr 10 – adult)

What to expect?

The purpose of grading is to form teams. Each player will get an identifying number written on their leg or arm. We aim to group players of similar skill level and form teams of ideally 9-11 players. If a team is too big, there is less court time, if a team is too small, there may not be sufficient coverage for absences on game day. Ideally each team will have a good spread of player positions – no use having a whole team of shooters!

Our aim is for happy players and we encourage you to communicate with us any preferences you have for friendship groups etc. Please be aware though, that not every request can be accommodated.

Attached is more information about Bullants that might answer other questions you have.

We look forward to a great season!
