Are you interested in becoming a coach? This is a wonderful way to build your leadership skills and contribute to the netball community.
The club will support you on your coaching journey through training and mentoring. The coaching mentor for 2025 is Perdi Mitchell.
The club will cover insurance and other fees. To recognise your role in the club we provide a ‘Coaches Hoodie’. We provide letters of acknowledgement for those who wish to use their coaching experience for university entrance or job applications.
What is involved?
You will be allocated to a team that matches your coaching experience. We are also happy for you to coach with a friend or pair you up with another coach to support your development as a coach.
You will be required to hold or obtain a Working with Vulnerable People Card (or the equivalent) if you are over the age of 16 years.
Coaching commitment during the winter season generally consists of:
- 1 hour of training on Wednesday afternoon / evening
- 1.5 hours of warm up and game time on Saturday
- Preparation time such as planning training and team positions for games
You will need to develop a coaching plan that caters to your team and seeks to build the skills of the individuals and the team as a whole. Importantly your coaching plan should be adapted during the season as you develop as a coach and as the season unfolds for your team.
