SCNA requesting help

Finals are here!

This weekend marks week one of finals, and we have a large number of Bullants teams to cheer for!

A few things change when we hit finals, if you are playing or spectating this weekend, it’s crucial you’re aware of the below:

  • The team/scorers benches will be enforced, so if you are not scoring or coaching, please ensure you stand on the OPPOSITE side of the court to the players.
  • All teams must provide one scorer per game. They must stand together in the centre of the court between the team benches. They are to work collaboratively throughout the game. This could be alternating who holds the score board each quarter or swapping roles at halftime. The scorers should work together to ensure each goal is recorded accurately and that both parties are satisfied with the score at the end of each quarter and at the conclusion of the game. The scoreboard should remain visible to both scorers at all times to avoid disputes. Any concerns or disputes should be flagged with an SCNA Executive member so it can be resolved prior to the score sheet being submitted to the office.
  • Physical scoring placards will be available for our inters games and above, and will be the responsibility of the scorers.
  • Players of all divisions who make the finals rounds (semi, preliminary and grand finals) will be played at the discretion of the coach.  All players are guaranteed two quarters (Divisions 3 & 4) and one quarter (Divisions 1 & 2) of court time per game only.
  • A reminder to players, coaches, parents/ spectators around behaviour – this is community sport, winning isn’t everything, respect the umpires decisions, play within the spirit of the game, have fun!

If you’re coming along to support Bullants this weekend, the below table has all of our final teams and their game times and courts! We look forward to seeing you there!

Finals fitness ON

Finals fitness is on tomorrow night! If your team didn’t make finals, you are absolutely still welcome to come! If you’ve never come before, come down and give it a go!

6:30pm Tuesday nights at SCNA.

Twilight registrations are open but limited. Get in now!

With our Deakin courts being resurfaced over the summer, SCNA has worked closely with Arawang Netball Association to run a Twilight Social competition for the SCNA community that we know our players love.

Arawang has a smaller number of courts so this will constrain the number of teams accepted. This also means that games are starting a little earlier than normal to ensure SCNA can get more teams on court before sunset.

SCNA has opened registrations and we strongly encourage those keen to play to register over the next week to enable us to confirm teams.

Please note players will be limited to play in two teams e.g. Women’s + Mixed.

The details you need to know:

Dates: The nine-week social competition will run on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 15 October to 11 December.

Address: Arawang Netball Association, Sherratt Pl, Stirling.
Timings: The timings below are approximate only and we may see teams play the timeslot earlier if needed as outlined below. Timings will be confirmed before the season begins.

TuesdaysWednesdays
5pmJuniors (Year 5&6)
(+ possibly Inters)
NET, SET, GO
6pmInters (Years 7&8)(+ possibly Cadets)Women’s Div 1
(+ possibly GO Games)
7pmCadets (Years 9&10)
(+ possibly Women’s)
Mixed (16+)
8pmWomen’s Social (Year 11 – open)Mixed (16+)

Costs: The cost to play varies from one age group to the next as this enables Bullants to pay an appropriate umpire for each division.

Discounts: SCNA are offering discounts for players who have not played netball in the ACT during 2024. For new players please email bullantsnetball@gmail.com for discount code BEFORE REGISTERING. If you can share a screenshot of your registration page where it shows the Netball ACT charge being applied.

Want to play with a friend? Please email your request to bullantsnetball@gmail.com with the names of friends you want to play with. We cannot guarantee your preference, but we will do our best.

Register now:

Presentation night: We’d love to invite you along to our annual presentation nights, which will allow us to celebrate the season and highlight some award winners. Seniors: 21st September – Venue TBC – RSVP HERE

Our senior players are invited to join us for celebrating, awards, nibbles and some netball trivia to celebrate the end of season. After the awards, we encourage you to stay for dinner after the presentations. We’ll come out with some more info shortly!

Whilst parents and siblings are welcome to stay and mingle on the outside courts while the awards are underway, the club will be providing food for players only.
