The regular season gets a bit disjointed here as we stop for Junior Rep Championships. So here is a summary to make sure everyone is one the same page.

Training – Training will continue even though there are no games. It is important to maintain the momentum as we lead up to finals. Make sure your child is in layers (a beanie is good too) as it is cold at the courts.

Sat 9 August – No Netball at SCNA. Junior Rep U13-U15 Championships at Lyneham. Good Luck to our girls playing, I am sure they would love your support if you can spend some time to visit the Lyneham Netball Centre.

Saturday 16 August – No Netball at SCNA for all divisions EXCEPT Inters Div 1/2 who will make up their games that were washed out in June. Games start at 11am so please be at the courts by 10:30 am at the latest. I would also like to take Comanche and Arapaho team photos at this time.

Junior Rep U11-U12 Championships at Lyneham. Good luck to the Bullants girls playing and feel free to pop over and cheer for them.

Saturday 23 August – All games resume. Team photos for all teams yet to have them. Please be at the courts 35 minutes before the start of your game. I will take photos in the carpark at the back of the pavilion.

Inters Div 1/2 will be playing 2 games over 2 time slots (12 pm and 1pm).

Saturday – 30 August – Last round of the season proper

Bullants will be running the BBQ at SCNA on Saturday 30 August. Gavan Cattanach has volunteered to coordinate the day but he needs helpers. Thank you to those regulars who have already signed on to help, we value your commitment to the club. You too can help out by filling out the FORM

Presentations for NSG, Junior umpires and SCNA volunteers of the year.

After 30 August, training will continue only for those teams in the finals rounds. Finals begin on Saturday 6 September.

Wednesday 24 September – BULLANTS FAMILY PARTY

At the conclusion of the party we will hold our Annual General Meeting. Bullants needs volunteers to continue to be able to provide netball at the club level. At the AGM all positions are declared vacant so here is your chance to jump on in. Several committee members are stepping down after many years of service and their roles need to be filled. At a minimum the club is legally required to have the roles of President, Treasurer and Secretary filled. Feel free to email us for more details.

Another chilly morning is expected tomorrow morning so rug up. I will be taking photos for the junior teams in the morning so please make sure you are at the courts 30 minutes before the game in full uniform. We will meet in the carpark near the pavilion.
Chickasaw has the bye this week and Braves are playing in the 3:15 time slot.

I still have a few tickets left for the Darters game tomorrow night. Let me know if you are interested in joining the cheer squad.

Games resume this Saturday with some divisions playing split rounds to make up for the washed out game in the last round. Inters 3 & 4 and all Senior divs will play the split round. Mohicans please note your game times are 2:37 pm and 3:15 pm

There has been a small mixup with the canteen roster so if anyone can pop into the canteen between 10-11 am I would be grateful.

Team photos – I am going to start taking team photos this weekend. NSG Shinook please make sure you are at the courts by 8:30 so we can take the photo before warming up…uniform please. Next weekend I will take all junior and inters 3 & 4. Please make sure you are here 30 mins before your game. Inters 1/2 will be sat 16 Aug when you have your make up games from the wash out round. Seniors will be the following week.

Good luck to our rep players heading to Illawarra this weekend, we hope you have fun.

Welcome back to netball, I hope everyone had a great holiday. Training resumes on Wednesday evening, please ensure players are wearing warm clothes ( layers are best).

Please check the draws as there has been some changes following the washed out round on June 28.
The following is a summary:
NSG ‘Set’, Juniors 2 & 4 – No change
Juniors 1 & 3 will play the round on Aug 30
Inters 1/2 will play their double game on Aug 16 at 11am as agreed to at Council meeting. This will be two half games of 30 minutes each with a small break in between PLEASE NOTE the start time.
Inters 3 & 4, Seniors 1, 2, 3 will all play split rounds this weekend. NOTE Seniors 1 Bullants Mohicans will play half game at the 2pm timeslot and half game at the 3: 15 time slot.

Players between the age of 15 and 19 are invited to trial to gain selection to one of three SCNA senior representative teams (U17 Div 2, U17 Div 1, U19). Trials will be held at SCNA of Tuesday 22 July & 29 July, 6-8 pm. Download forms and find out more from the SCNA website

Just a reminder that there is no training tonight. We will resume training on Wednesday 23 july. Have a great holiday.

Too cold and wet

The Bullants committee are looking for a few volunteers to coordinate two events.
1. BBQ – Bullants will run the SCNA BBQ on Saturday 30 August. We use the profits from the BBQ to fund our end of season Celebration or purchase new equipment. The coordinator will need to generate/maintain a list of volunteers and ensure the BBQ runs smoothly on the day.
2. Summer competition – Summer comp runs over 8 Wednesday evenings from October 15. The summer comp coordinator will collect all Bullants registrations and place players into teams; work with the treasurer to ensure all fees are collected; work with the umpire coordinator to ensure all games are covered. This role is supported by the Bullants committee throughout the season.

AGM
The Bullants Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday 24 September, immediately following our end of season party. Key roles need to be filled to ensure the club can continue and many hands make light work. There are a few of us who have kept the club going and it would be great to have some new volunteers onboard so please consider joining the Bullants team. All positions on the committee will be declared vacant at the AGM. We will say goodbye to our Treasurer Maree who has worked so hard over the last few years, so we will need a treasurer to move forward. If you think you might be able to fill this role now is the time to chat to Maree and she can share her wisdom before she goes. Brittany our umpire coordinator is also vacating her role as she is leaving Canberra next year to start a new adventure.

Uniform
The roll out of the Bullants dress has been a great success and the senior and Inters 1 players look great in them. The enthusiasm of the players has been such that we have had the rest of the Inters players begging to be able to wear the dress also. So we have decided to make the dress available to all inters from next year. The approximate cost is $85. We will make available a system for second hand uniform sales.
