Happy New Year!

Welcome back to another season of Netball, hopefully you have all had an exciting and restful break.

REGISTRATION
Online registration is now open.  VISIT the WINTER COMPETITION PAGE for all the details and the links to register.  If you need help with this or would like to chat to us before registering then we will be down at the Deakin Netball courts on Wednesday 3 & 10 February from 5:30 -7:00pm. Note that for all returning players you will need the MyNetball ID for the person you are registering.

UNIFORM
All players will now wear the Bullants Club dress and these and other uniform can be ordered online in our Webstore.  The Webstore will go live on the Bullants website on Wednesday 3 February 2016.  Dresses can be tried on for sizing at the Deakin Netball courts on Wednesday 3 & 10 February from 5:30 -7:00pm.

VOLUNTEERS
Many hands make light work! We need your help, not just for the big jobs like coaching and umpiring (although we are always looking for those) but we also have a myriad of things that you can help with…team manager, BBQ and canteen roster, uniform packing and sorting orders, player fitness, website and facebook administration just to name a few. TRAINING

Club grading/training begins on Wednesday 17 February 2016 and continues every Wednesday until the end of the season excluding school holidays. Please remember to have appropriate footwear and that all jewellry is removed before taking the courts.

All registrations and communications will be online so don’t forget to spread the word, invite your friends and follow the Bullants blog.

So ends another fantastic year of netball and we would like to wish everyone a safe and happy summer break and thank you all for your support throughout the year.

At Bullants HQ, the fun never stops and it’s never too early to think about next year, so here are a few updates for the year ahead:

• In 2016 all players will get to wear our Bullants A-line Dress, previously reserved for our Seniors and Inters divisions.
• All player and officials’ registrations will be done online with payment and uniform purchases completed via the payment gateway supported by Netball Australia.
• Our online registration form will be available in late January (for those who have followed us on the website, watch out for our email in your inbox for full details in Jan).
• With the introduction of streamlined registrations we will have two evenings, 3rd and 10th Feb, where you will be able to come and try on uniform for sizing purposes and troubleshoot registration where required.
• Grading will be completed on Wednesday 17th and 24th February and regular trainings will commence the following Wednesday 2nd March for the remainder of the season.
• Ear piercing – if you forgot to have it done at the end of the season, your window is closing!! Just a reminder that all piercings and jewellry will need to be removed for trials and training for safety reasons.

Bullants Netball is  a wonderful community and we are run purely by  volunteers who spend their very precious leisure time for the good of us all. We have a great new committee, elected at our recent AGM, as well as some awesome players and parents that help in various ways throughout the year. It is with heavy hearts that we say farewell to all those families who are leaving us this year, we hope when circumstances change we will see you again soon, until then, enjoy your netball wherever you find it!

For all those families we will see in the New Year, don’t be shy about sending our website or contact email to friends, colleagues and family. We missed most of the school/ newsletters for Term 4 so please spread the word far and wide about how and when to join- there is nothing worse than not being able to fit someone in because they didn’t find out about Netball until long after registrations closed.

At this stage round 4 of summer comp is going ahead.  There is no rain at Deakin at this point.

Wet weather updates – It will not be possible for me to update this site this afternoon so please check the SCNA WEBSITE for updates regarding playing if it is raining.  Remember that the decision to cancel may be a last minute one (we always aim to play).

In April 2016 SCNA will take a group of wonderful players to New Zealand and among them are many Bullants girls. The girls have begun fundraising to help reduce the cost of the tour and it would be great if our community could support them in their efforts.

Summer comp registrations have closed and team letters will be emailed out tonight.   Draws can be accessed on the WEBSITE.  Please note that there may be changes to the draw so make sure you check frequently.

A message from SCNA:
Please note the following:

1. There is a bye in both the junior draws at this point.  the only way to get around this is to bring a div 2 team into the div 1 comp and push one juniors game up to the 6:30 time slot.  We will reassess after round 1 so please check the draws for changes.
2. There is a bye in Inters Div 2 however this may be resolved once we have confirmation on the SCC teams which will happen on Monday/Tuesday so please check the draw closer to Wednesday.

Court refurbishment:
Please be careful moving around the courts.  There are some areas that are out of bounds.

1.  The new asphalt strip on the south side of the courts (behind courts 2,4,6,8)
2.  The new grass area behind courts on the north (courts 1,3,5,7).
3. The SCNA carpark – please park in the King Street carpark
4. The grass courts – some work has begun to re-position the pole casings so please be careful when moving across the grass as there are some uneven places.

Dinner sorted:
The 2016 SCNA NZ tour group will be opening the canteen and running the BBQ so please support theses and other fundraising activities that they will be undertaking during the summer comp.

Inters div 3 Joint champions – Bullants Mohawks ( yes it was an awesome game)

Inters div 1 champions – Bullants Comanche

Seniors div 2 Champions – Bullants Chiefs

Our Inters and seniors champion teams will now play in the Tuggeranong Association Championship carnival on Sunday 11 October.

Great job coaches and players and a big shout out to our scorers who had a nerveracking job today.
