Grading is over! Let’s play!

Uniforms: all stock has now arrived and has been handed out. If you’re missing something please reach out ASAP.

Grading: we’ve now completed both Bullants and SCNA grading and are finally about to start playing some games! There has been movement in most divisions so please check your division and time carefully for the weekend. SCNA has worked hard to ensure a balance of team skills and numbers with the goal of the best player experience for everyone.

Umpires: the Junior Umpiring Program commences this week, which means lots of budding young umpires will get their first opportunity to blow the whistle. Please be as supportive and respectful as you can, as we desperately need umpires to keep playing netball! If you do have concerns PLEASE DO NOT approach the umpire, and instead find an umpire supervisor in a pink vest. They are there to help guide and mentor our new umpires. Please only approach the mentors if you have been asked to do so by the coach.

IDAHOBIT: is this Saturday the 17th of May, and is the international day against LGBTQIA+ discrimination. While we will have a pride round later in the season, we’d encourage you all to wear your rainbow (netball appropriate) accessories to show your support. Discrimination in sport is common, and sports are often not seen as a safe space. We at Bullants are passionate about changing this for our LGBTQIA+ communities, and encourage you all to join us in showing your support. Click here for more info.

Fitness cancelled tonight due to weather

Unfortunately the weather is not on our side once again and we need to cancel the fitness session tonight. See everyone at training tomorrow.

Training updates and uniforms are here!

We were so excited to see you all and break in the new courts on Saturday! Thank you for all your patience in getting the season underway, we’re certainly glad to be finally playing games!

Fitness training: we’re still aiming to have a four week block, starting tomorrow, 6:30pm at SCNA! The new dates will be the 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th May. This is open to inters, cadets and seniors at a cost of $10 per session.

Uniforms: final uniforms have arrived and these are ready to collect. Please remember to collect these on Wednesday at training, as we cannot facilitate uniform collection on Saturdays.

Training: we’re anticipating that Wednesday training will be limited to the four courts again, with no updates from the electrician about the lights. As a reminder to parents, you’re welcome to stay (though you don’t need to!), but please wait at the BBQ area, not courtside.

While we’re on the topic of training, we want to re-iterate that training is compulsory. If you anticipate that you will regularly miss training please email the club to seek an exemption, as it’s important for our teams and coaches to minimise disruptions.

Fitness training cancelled!

Due to the wet weather, we are cancelling our first fitness training tonight.

Fingers crossed for training tomorrow night!

Saturday Netball starts at SCNA!

Saturday schedule: Games begin this weekend!! Draws for the weekend are now available on PlayHQ here (or through the NetballHQ app). Please note teams will be playing split rounds for grading this weekend, so it’s important to look at rounds 1 and 2 (and 3+4 for next weekend) to see when you’ll be playing. Please check these times as soon as possible, as some teams will be playing at different times. Times after round 4 are subject to change based on grading results. Also please note court numbers have changed with the new courts, so you may need a few extra minutes to find your court!

Training: We are back at home (SCNA Courts, Deakin) at our usual times from this Wednesday! This means NetSetGo and Juniors at 5:30; Inters and Cadets at 6:30 and Seniors at 7:30pm.

BBQ Reminder: As we kick off training for 2025, we’d love to welcome our players, coaches, umpires, parents and supporters to join us for a BBQ on 30th April to start the season. This will be held at 6.15pm-6.45pm for our NSG, Juniors, Inters and Cadets and any Seniors keen to join. We would also welcome any volunteers to help staff the BBQ. Please email – bullantsnetball@gmail.com.

Uniforms: The first of our uniforms have arrived, please ensure you come along on Wednesday night to collect your uniform pieces. All hoodies are here, while uniforms ordered after the 15th of March have not yet arrived. If this affects you, please come prepared to play on Saturday in a white shirt and black bottoms. If you have ordered a hoodie, PLEASE ensure you write your name in the back, so that any lost hoodies can be reunited. Please also note that no uniforms will be handed out on Saturdays, and if you do not collect them at training this week, you will need to wait for the following Wednesday. We ask that parents come along to collect uniforms, so that players can focus on their training.

Fitness training: Starts this Tuesday from 6:30-7:30pm, at SCNA courts, Deakin. All inters/cadets/seniors welcome, at a cost of $40 for the 4 sessions, please come ready to pay this at session one.

Welcome back to Deakin; Fitness Sessions are Back

Training Times for Term 2

We’ll officially return to training at our Deakin courts on Wednesday, 30th April (first Wednesday of Term 2), with training times outlined here.

Welcome to 2025 BBQ

As we kick off training for 2025, we’d love to welcome our players, coaches, umpires, parents and supporters to join us for a BBQ on 30th April to start the season. This will be held at 6.15pm-6.45pm for our NSG, Juniors, Inters and Cadets and any Seniors keen to join.

We would also welcome any volunteers to help staff the BBQ. Please email – bullantsnetball@gmail.com.

Remaining Team Managers needed

We need managers for the following teams. It isn’t a complex role, but it is a critical one to enable teams to take the court. If we don’t have a manager, the teams will be unable to take the court come 3 May.

  • Juniors – Fire Ants
  • Cadets – Cotter, Boboyan, Blundell, Orroral
  • Seniors – Majura, Gibraltar, Coree

Emails during the holidays

After a crazy grading process, our committee will be taking a well-earned break over the holidays. We won’t be monitoring the Bullants Email, so responses may take longer than normal.  Have a wonderful break to all our players and their families.

TRAINING STARTS TONIGHT – PLEASE SEE TIMES BELOW

Thank you again for your patience as we worked through the 340+ players who are all joining us this season! Because we need to fit players on court, and because errors in emails always sneak through, we thought we would share the following as a guide!

Please note, game times are indicative only as they do rely on the numbers of teams all the clubs submit to SCNA.

Training Commences This Week, Wednesday 2 April

A note from our President:

With grading now complete, we wanted to thank the Bullants community for your flexibility and patience during recent weeks. We will love our new Deakin courts once we can play on them, but not having our home has, and continues to, play havoc with our grading process. The change in days and location, combined with the weather our players have endured, has been far from ideal, and we want to acknowledge this. Unfortunately, it looks like we won’t have access to the Deakin courts until Term 2 when remediation work should be completed.

On a positive note, our Club will enter 2025 with the largest number of teams we have ever submitted – 36 teams across NSG to Seniors. We are thrilled to see so many people return, or come and play netball with Bullants for the first time, and we know we will have a super successful season ahead.

This increase does put considerable pressure on our volunteer base, especially our coaches and umpires, so please send a note to bullantsnetball@gmail.com if you can help out in any way. We will find a space for you that fits the hours you can contribute!

Finally, a massive thank you to everyone who helped with the grading process – our wonderful committee who put endless hours in finding the ‘right fit’ for each player and the volunteers who lent their hand to grading, umpiring, or supporting our players.

Peta Lange, President

Training: WILL start this Wednesday 2 April at Arawang Netball Association (ANA) with times as follows:

  • NSG (Yrs 2,3,4): 5.00pm-5.45pm
  • Juniors (Yrs 5&6): 5.45pm-6.30pm
  • Inters (Yrs 7&8) & Cadets* (Yrs 9&10):7.00pm – 8.00pm
  • Cadets* (Yrs 9&10): 8.00pm – 9.00pm
  • Seniors: 8.00pm – 9.00pm

We will train at Arawang courts for the next 2 weeks before we revert to our usual timings at SCNA courts in Term 2. Unfortunately, this is the only option possible for the Club to train in Term 1 given the lack of court access. We know some players will be unable to train due to Rep training requirements and we are liaising with coaches to let them know.

*For our Cadets teams, we will be in touch about which training session you need to attend.

Teams: We will share the teams for Inters, Cadets and Seniors over the next 24 hours.

Uniforms: Final uniform orders this Wednesday from 5.30pm at the ANA courts.

The weather is cooling down, so please remember to bring an extra layer!

Seniors cancelled, uniforms open till 4pm

Thanks for your patience today with all the weather updates. Seniors will not proceed uniform shop open until 4pm.

Cadets are going ahead today

The rain has eased, we look forward to seeing Cadets at 2pm.
