Training and games resume this week

We hope everyone has enjoyed the change of routine. It’s been a long break but we are back on the courts this week. Training returns tomorrow night (weather permitting) and games start again this Saturday.   There are 6 games left of the regular season and then potentially 3 weeks of finals for Juniors and above.  The last week of netball for year 2, 3 and 4 will be 21 August. Go well teams for the second half of the season!

Round Robin Games this Wednesday

If the predicted rain for Wednesday passes over quickly and allows us to be on court, we have planned a Round Robin evening with 3 short games for each session. No need for Bullants uniform – we will wear ‘over the head’ style bibs – but please ensure you bring a drink bottle, REMOVE ALL JEWELLERY, long hair to be tied back and finger nails cut short.

Following our warm up, each game will consist of 2 x 6min halves and there will be 4mins between games.

This will be a fun session and a great farewell for the school holiday break. After this Wednesday, our next training is 14th July and next Saturday game day is 17th July. Keep up some fitness and ball handling over the break if you can!

Bulkants Netball -Training Cancelled….. Again!

Hi Bullants families.

Unfortunately the weather has been unkind to us again this week. Although radars show that the rain may pass, the courts are too wet to be safe so we are cancelling training this afternoon/evening.

We are hoping to be able to run our round robin of match play at next week ‘s training session. Look for more information in coming days.

In the meantime stay dry and warm and good luck to all our players participating in the ACT championships this weekend.

Training Tonight Cancelled; Game Day Umpires; Potential Round Robin

Good morning,

Training Cancelled Wednesday 9th June: Given the weather prediction of rain and low temperatures, the committee has decided to cancel all training sessions tonight. See you next Wednesday. We are planning a Round Robin session – stay tuned for more details!

Game Day Umpires:

Conversations Between Two parents watching a game:

“Which one is your kid?”

“Why?”

“I wanted to tell them how awful they are.”

“What is wrong with you? You can’t say that to somebody else’s kid!”

“Huh? You have done that ALL game to my kid.”

“What? Which one is your kid?”

“The Umpire.”

SILENCE

We encourage the Bullants community – parents and players – to respect our umpires, particularly given each year there are umpires who are learning to umpire for the first time.

Saturday Games: Next Saturday game is 17th July.

Reporting Injuries, Umpires Convener, Upcoming games and Volunteer Confirmation

Good morning Bullants,

We look forward to seeing everyone on court today. Here are a few things to keep in mind for the season:

Injuries: if there is an injury on court during a game, it needs to be reported to the office and recorded in the SCNA injury book. If there is an injury at training, it needs to be reported the team coach and a committee member. Injury records are kept for insurance purposes.

Umpires: If you have a concern with umpiring or need rule clarification with the umpire, ONLY the team Captain may approach the umpire during the course of the game. If there is an issue still unresolved, please approach the SCNA Umpire Convener.

5 weeks no Saturday games! If you have checked the draw in advance you will see we play on the 5th June, then not again until 17th July. Five weeks of no Saturday netball! Not ideal for player fitness or team cohesion, so we will have to work even harder at training to keep things together. There are several reasons for the break – long weekend, school holidays and ACT Junior Championships (good luck to all our Bullants players who represent SCNA).

Do you need confirmation that you volunteer for Bullants? We have been approached by several club members needing evidence of their volunteer commitment for university applications and we are more than happy to assist. Please send an email to Bullants allowing a couple of days for us to complete the forms/prepare a relevant letter.

Lost Property

We collect lost property from Wednesday night training sessions. If you have lost a piece of clothing or a drink bottle, please come and see a committee member at the pavilion on Wednesday night.

Hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather that we had on court today!

SCNA Junior Umpire Program

Due to the overwhelming interest in the junior umpiring program, SCNA is running a second program. If you missed out on being part of the first program, please send an email to SCNA Operations Manager with your contact details.

The second program is likely to start towards the end of term 2. You need to be in Yr 7 or above and able to attend on Saturday mornings from 9.15am for a theory lesson followed by umpiring in the junior timeslots at either 10 or 11 am.

No dogs permitted

Exit from Wednesday Training

Parents, during the busy 6.30pm court changeover on Wednesday evenings, please ensure you make yourself visible for children to easily identify you. It is difficult in the dark for children to see their responsible parent/carer and we have recently had some distressed children. Please make yourself easily seen at the King St gate so the children can safely and confidently leave the courts.

Bullants Netball

Good morning bullants families.

it is cold at the courts today, so make sure you rug up. Layers are ideal so players can remove them as they warm up. Remember to arrive 30 minutes before your game so that you can warm up properly and prevent injuries

Umpiring Foundation Course – Begins Tomorrow

For all players Yr7+ who are interested in learning to Umpire, please come along to the Pavilion tomorrow at 9.15am for the first session of the six week Foundation Umpiring course. Please bring a whistle if you can.
