Finals are here! + end of season essentials!

A huge congratulations to everyone on another excellent season of netball! We’re so thrilled to have had such a wonderful season after our very chaotic start to the year! For all of those who didn’t make finals, we can’t wait to see you for our presentation nights and summer comp (coming soon!!!)

We’ve had an incredible amount of teams go through to finals this year with 19 teams playing this weekend! Additionally, half of the umpires picked for the finals are Bullants. We’re wishing you all the best for this weekend!!

Fitness sessions: Our last week of fitness is this Tuesday from 6-7pm at SCNA.

Presentation nights: for our NSG, Juniors, Inters and Cadets presentation nights will be on Thursday the 25th of September at the Mawson club. Please note the change of date!!!! RSVP and more info here

Volunteers: a huge shout out to our VP Jude for taking home the SCNA senior volunteer of the year this past weekend! We also can’t wait to show you the incredible photos Majeed has taken for us this year! We appreciate you both!!

End of season prep

The end of season is very quickly approaching, and with that there’s a few things to be aware of!

Firstly, we want to invite our inters, cadets and seniors players to vote for their player’s player award at this link.

27th Aug – Last training for NSG and teams not playing finals
30th Aug – Last game for NSG and teams not playing finals
6th Sept – Semi finals for teams who have finished 1-4 on the ladder 1v2, 3v4. Times TBC
13th Sept – Preliminary finals, Winner of 3v4 versus Loser of 1v2. Times TBC
20th Sept – Grand Finals. Time TBC.
20th Sept – Seniors Presentation Night, Statesman Hotel, Curtin – 6pm. More details TBC
24th Sept – NSG, Junior (530), Inters, Cadets (615) Pizza Party / Presentation Night. SCNA courts

Fitness sessions back!

We’re excited to jump into another round of fitness, starting tomorrow night! 6:30-7:30 at SCNA. This will be a four week block, every Tuesday until the 2nd of September.

Team photos start this week at training! Please keep an eye out for your timeslot, over the next few weeks.

Please make sure to let your coaches know if you won’t make it to your games on the weekend, with as much notice as possible, so that we can source an appropriate fill-in.

Presentation dates for your diary: seniors 20th September (grand final day), NetSetGo, Juniors, Inters and Cadets you’re up on the 24th of September. Times and locations to be announced.

Team photos and bbq duty!

We’re excited to start getting team photos organised over the next few weeks. This year this will happen at training on Wednesdays, either the 13th, 20th or 27th of August. Your team manager will be in touch with your teams date, but please come prepped in uniform on the night!

A reminder that training is compulsory for all teams, and it’s expected that you let your coaches or teammates know ahead of time if you cannot make it for any reason. Our coaches are volunteers and put in a lot of time and effort to make training as beneficial as they can, please do your part by coming to training!

9am grass courts cancelled

The grass is particularly wet, SCNA have decided to cancel the 9am grass court games. 10am grass court watch this space…

All other games, especially those on the hard courts are going ahead at this stage. Please check carefully what court you’re on and come ready to play!

Bullants wishes lots of luck to our athletes travelling to Queensland to participate in U15 School Sport Championship over the next week. Congratulations to Zara and Toby who have been selected in the ACT netball teams and to Izzy and Willow have been selected in the ACT AFL team. Hoping you have fine weather and lots of great competition.

For the rest of us I’m sure you’ve all seen the forecast for tomorrow… we’ll let you know as soon as we can here, and via the WhatsApp group what’s happening, but please assume that your game is going ahead until you hear otherwise!

Saturday netball returns!

We’re so excited to get the second half of the season going this Saturday, and we can’t wait to see you all back out there! We’re keeping an eye on the weather but we have our fingers crossed!

With Saturday’s back we’re also back into regular Wednesday training. Please remember that everyone is expected to attend training each week, and our coaches work hard to ensure the team can take the most out of it. We know it has been cold recently but please be sure to rug up and come along tomorrow night!

Save the date: we’re already planning for the end of season, and want you to be able to as well!

For seniors, end of season presentation night will be grand final day, the 20th of September.

For the rest of the club, presentation night will be on the following Wednesday the 24th of September.

Times, details and location to follow, but please pop it in your diaries now so you can join us!

Training + NetSetGo Gala Day

Just a reminder that we’re training this Wednesday for those that are in town! We’d love to see you all at your usual times for some squad style training and games. Not all coaches will be available, but there will be plenty of people around to supervise and run training, so please come on down! Outstanding uniform orders can also be collected on Wednesday evening.

Gala day: We’re also holding a Gala Day for our NetSetGo players this Saturday, the 19th of July, at SCNA. Please arrive for 9am warm-up, with games starting at 9:30.

Each team will play 3 games, with 2x 10 minute halves for each game, and the day will be wrapped up by 11:30am.

Make sure to bring your own snacks and water, as the canteen will be closed!

Training cancelled tomorrow!

We can’t ignore the forecast is looking very wet and windy tomorrow, and with no games until the end of July we’ve decided to make an early call on training now.

We will be back next week! Wednesday the 2nd of July we will hold a round robin so our Bullants teams will get to have some match play before the break.

We will then take week one of the holidays off, so no training on the 9th of July, before returning for training for those that are around and keen on the 16th of July. We may not have full teams this week, but there will be someone around to run training for each age group!

Finally we will all come back for regular training on the 23rd of July, before we return to games on the 26th of July.

In summary: 25th June: no training; 2nd July: training is on; 9th of July: no training; 16th July: training is optional but highly encouraged; 23rd July: back to our usual schedule of Wednesday night training and Saturday games!

Thank you all for showing up in your rainbow best for our pride round on the weekend! It was wonderful to see so many of you embrace the occasion and we’re so grateful it was such a lovely day! A reminder if you haven’t already, we’re fundraising for Minus18, a charity designed to support LGBTQI+ youth, we’d love you to make a donation if you’re able to support the valuable work they do here.

Saturday was our last game until the 26th of July, we have a long break for junior championships and school holidays. We will continue to train during the school term so please come along to training unless you hear otherwise! We have lots of fun things planned to keep us entertained and busy, watch this space!

The first thing we have planned is this Saturday! We have former Aussie Diamond Susan Pettitt coming to run some skills clinics for our NSG & Juniors between 10:30 and 12pm, and our inters, cadets and seniors between 12-1:30pm. Click here to sign up!

The Australian Masters Games are being held in Canberra this October. We’re looking to put in some Bullants teams for those 30+. We’re also on the lookout for umpires, coaches, scorers and timers so please let us know you’re interested by filling in the EOI – click here.
