For those teams who played their last game of the season on Saturday, we look forward to seeing you at the upcoming presentation events, at Twilight comp or on the sideline cheering for Bullants in the next three weeks of finals,
Congratulations to the 12 Bullants teams (4 Juniors, 8 Seniors) who have made it through to the finals series! Best of luck to all our teams. We have some tough games ahead and this weekend we see Bullants v Bullants in three divisions!
We will have some club-coloured hair ribbons to hand out at training tomorrow and we encourage everyone to embrace the finals spirit, especially after the last two seasons that have been Covid interrupted.
Some important reminders for this time of year:
Player Court time (extract from Bullants Player Policy)
Players of all divisions who make the finals rounds (semi, preliminary and grand finals) will be played at the discretion of the coach. All players are guaranteed two quarters (Divisions 3 & 4) and one quarter (Divisions 1 & 2) of court time per game only.
Where to stand?
Players, Coaches, Managers and Scorers will be on one sideline, with spectators on the opposite side of the court
Players’ code of behaviour (extract from Code of Behaviour)
- Play by the rules and within the spirit of Netball
- Never argue with an official. If you disagree, have your team captain, coach or manager approach the official during a break
- Control your temper. Verbal abuse of officials or other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent is neither acceptable nor permitted.
Spectators Code of Behaviour (extract from Code of Behaviour)
- Respect the decision of the umpires.
- Encourage players to play according to the rules and the official decisions, and develop your own knowledge of the rules.
- Do not use foul language, sledge or harass administrators, coaches, players, umpires or other spectators.
- Condemn the use of violence in any form, be it by administrators, coaches, players, umpires or other spectators.
Responsibility of the Scorer (from SCNA By-Laws)
Scorers from each team must stand with the opposition scorer throughout the game, in one location on the opposite side line of the court to other spectators to avoid controversy or dissent over the score. An information sheet on how to score is attached to the scoreboard. The scorers should ensure that all players, the team captains and scorers sign the score sheet before it is returned to the Pavilion.
If the match is drawn? (from SCNA By-Laws)
Drawn match in the finals series (Semi-Finals, Preliminary Finals or Final): “When the goals are equal at full-time in a Semi-Final, Preliminary Final or Final, there will be a two (2) minute break during which time there may be substitutions and/or team changes. At the end of that two (2) minutes, a further two (2) x five (5) minute halves will be played. In this circumstance an official timekeeper must be present. At the end of the first five (5) minutes teams change ends and there may be substitutions and/or team changes. If at the end of the second five (5) minutes the scores are still level, then play continues (substitutions and/or team changes may be made) until one team has a two (2) goal advantage, and they are declared the winning team
Pets
In accordance with ACT law, no dogs or other animals are allowed on ACT sporting grounds; this includes all courts within the SCNA boundaries, including the grass courts. Fines can be issued by ACT Sport and Recreation. Your cooperation in this matter is appreciated.
Please let your coach, manager or a member of the committee know if you have any questions. We look forward to a fun few weeks.
