Dear SCNA community
As a parent, I’ve stood on the sidelines of our grass courts early on a Saturday morning, watching our youngest players. Like many of you, I’ve felt the disappointment at cancelled games, watched our children warm up on the icy cold grass with wet feet, and worried about potential injuries.
As an Association, we’ve simply outgrown our current courts.
That’s why SCNA is embarking on a pivotal project: transforming our grass courts into four new covered hardcourts. This isn’t just about new facilities; it’s about creating a true home for netball where every player, from our youngest beginners to our seasoned champions, have the safe, inspiring space they deserve to thrive and reach their full potential. This essential transformation will empower more players to play the game we love, to have fun, foster health, and build players for generations.
We are incredibly proud to have secured $1.5 million from the Federal Government for this vital project – a monumental step forward! Yet achieving this ambitious vision requires a substantial fundraising effort and widespread community support to make it a reality.
Our fundraising journey
We are embarking on a strategy to raise the extra funds we need for the new courts and beyond. To support creating the best environment we can for community netball. We will have more to say over the coming weeks on ways you can help out. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will directly build this future for our community.
This is our first conversation, but won’t be our last. In the meantime, if you would like to share any ideas, be a part of the conversation or have suggestions, we would love to hear from you. Email us at scna.operations@gmail.com
We can’t wait to start this with you and watch what we can achieve together.
Warm regards,
Cindy Barry (President), the Executive Team & our Fundraising Committee led by Mel Waring and Peta Lange
