We’re super excited to welcome you all back to netball for 2025!
Registrations are now open! Click here to be taken to the page to register.
Importantly though, there are a few differences to our preseason this year, that we want to walk you through.
Courts: As you’re likely aware, our court surfaces are in the process of being upgraded. This project is taking longer than anticipated and we are not expecting the courts to be available to us until just before the season commences. As a result, we have had to carefully consider our grading and training processes. This leads us to point two…
Grading: Grading will be held on a Saturday afternoon at the Arawang Netball Association courts (Stirling) from Saturday 22nd February. Watch this space for confirmation of times for each age group (Juniors through to Seniors). With half the courts in Canberra being renovated currently, there is a huge demand for court time, so we’ve chosen the option that will hopefully minimise the interruption to everyone’s schedules.
We will proceed with three weeks of grading:
· Saturday, 22 February
· Saturday, 1 March
· Saturday 15 March
We will share a survey in the coming weeks with those registered to ensure we can capture when players can/can’t attend.
Training: It is likely that training will also take place on a Saturday afternoon at the Arawang courts from Saturday 22 March (once grading is completed), but we will confirm this in the weeks ahead. For our NetSetGo teams (Years 2-4) who aren’t graded, training will likely begin on 22 March.
Please note, as soon as we have our new courts back, we will swing back to training on Wednesday nights at SCNA!
Fees: Our fees are made up of four components – Netball Australia, Netball ACT fees, SCNA fees, and Bullants fees. The Bullants component covers elements such as umpires, playing equipment, coaching gifts and club events. For the last couple of years, Bullants has been able to absorb some of the increase in Netball ACT/SCNA fees due to a healthy bank balance. However, this year, with Netball ACT increasing its fees and us reaching a point where further cost absorption is not viable, we do need to increase our fees to maintain our sustainability. This will see fees rise by up to $30 for the season. Please note that PlayHQ also charges a system fee of roughly $5 on top of the fees noted in the table below.
We know this may be difficult for some in our community. PlayHQ has a payment plan system, which may help to spread the cost for families. Or, we also encourage you to email us at bullantsnetball@gmail.com before registering if you have any concerns/questions.
| Fees | 2024 | 2025 |
| NSG – Set (Year 2&3) | $200 | $230 |
| NSG – Go (Year 4) | $220 | $250 |
| Juniors (Years 5&6) | $270 | $285 |
| Inters (Years 7&8) | $275 | $305 |
| Cadets (Years 9&10) | $275 | $305 |
| Seniors (under 18s) | $295 | $310 |
| Seniors (18+) | $305 | $320 |
Uniforms: Please hang tight on uniforms for now, we will let you know when we’re able to take orders, but this will likely be at grading/training so that you have the opportunity to try on your new pieces!
Fitness: In 2024, we ran a trial specialised fitness and conditioning program for our inters/ cadets/ seniors players to boost our conditioning and create opportunities to get to know players across the club. The program was very successful – we had great numbers involved and received positive feedback.
As a result, we’re looking at ways we can roll out the program in a sustainable way. To inform our thinking, we’d welcome the views of our inters/cadets/seniors players – please fill in the following survey.
