Bullants Netball – Players with chicken pox

Hello Bullants families,

We have been advised that 2 or our NSG players have been diagnosed with chicken pox. The children attend Curtin and Garran Primary Schools.

Chicken pox (Varicella) is a highly contagious virus that is passed by person-to-person contact. Please keep an eye out for any symptoms in your child, which may include mild headache, fever or feeling unwell with a rash. The initial spots look similar to mosquito bites usually on the body, arms, face and neck. The rash progresses to fluid filled blisters that finally crust over and dry. The incubation period is usually 14-21 days with the child being contagious 1-2 days before the onset of the rash. Children should remain at home until ALL lesions are crusted over, usually 6-7 days.
